A fair assessment of the situation by Neil Lennon, we were the better team, we should have scored more goals than Kilmarnock did, we should have had a penalty and Stokes shouldn`t have been booked.

    Agree with everything he said.

I agree with everything Lenny said. It was a stonewall penalty and even if in Collum's opinion the Killy player got the ball, why was a corner not given? Terrible decision by Collum and Lenny did nothing more than express what many of us have been saying.

It annoys me when some of our own fans don't feel it is right for our own manager to speak up when decisions given in games are wrong.

I disagree with the majority on here. I agree with most of what he said but it wasn't very professional the way he handled the situation. But I wouldn't say I was embarrassed by what he said.

I don't agree with what he said, i don't think it was a stonewall penalty. Our problem was complacency and players not turning up, Lennon should have focused on why Hooper has been * poor for a few games now, why Forrest is still getting picked despite being pretty poor as well for a few games.

Why samaras did not start, why Wilson was included when Chuck is at his best in the CB position. These are the questions i wanted Lennon to answer, not trying say we lost a final simply because we didn't get a pen. We lost the final because we were complacent and the vast majority of the players did not turn up.

I wasn't embarrassed by Neil Lennon's post match interview. I did think it was one of his more ungracious interviews though. Kilmarnock were not lucky to win and the Anthony Stokes incident was not a penalty. So I think Neily made himself look like a bad loser by talking the way he did on Sunday.

All football managers are guilty of that at one time or another so it's not a huge deal.

Whatever people's personal feelings are about Collum I do not like it when he is described as a cheating hun because he didn't give us a penalty at which contact was only visible from certain angles, many of which were denied to the ref and his team (linesmen).

The booking was harsh but even though I saw contact I still think Stokes went down easily and made it look like a swan dive, something that has become very common and many of us on here wuite rightly condemned Aluko for doing agianst Dunfermline.

And Brown saying that Stokes has scars only makes us sound more and more a bunch of bad losers.

Regarding Lennon, what he says is not embarrassing but it is very ill conceived and leaves him open to attack from many angles. He aportions all blame to the referee when the simple fact is we were not particularly great, Stokes should have shot seconds before the penalty incident and Hooper missed an open goal in a cup final that I would expect a man earning a tenth of what he earns to slot home in his sleep.

Considering the tragic aftermath of the game, as well as Fabrice Muamba's situation in England, NL and other Celtic representatives should be big enough to accept it is done, controversial decisions do happen in football, and then move on because, at the end of the day, it is not the most important thing and Celtic will still win countless trophies in the future.

The only thing that's embarrassing is the demonisation of our manager.

Hardly being demonised, its a valid question to ask since quite a number of fans don't believe it was a penalty. To say us not being given the penalty made us lose the game is well making lenny look like a sore loser.

he did go a bit far, he has to remember we lost because our team played like *, not because of willie collum, and most people would agree if that penalty had been given it would have been a travesty and we might have won a trophy we didnt deserve, stokes may have been hit but his head was down the whole way not even looking at the goal, he was waiting to be tripped

    * is the St. Lennon Brigade?

Are you somehow implying that Lenny gets an easy ride because he is Irish?

If so can I refer you to Celtic cyberspace in October for proof that you are talking out of your *? :50:

How so? They would have been wanting to make sure they had seen it first before coming out and commenting on it. Pretty clever if you ask me.

i am embarrassed too, i would of went in the dressing room furious at hooper for a half arsed attempt, kelvin wilson for poor marking.
and then let the rest of the team know they never played anywhere near good enough.
we shouldnt depend on a penelty

He is a sore loser, as are all successful managers.

That is irrelevant though, it was a penalty and it cost us the game. What is factually incorrect about that?

Yep, because when a team is far superior to the other team they shouldn't awarded last minute penalties :56:
