I completely agree TAB and mmmikey, i am another one who has liked Ki from the word go, so most of my posts on him are quite biased to say the least but i do think what i say is warranted though, agree about the point he seems to need to score a wonder goal for other posters to recognise his contribution.

If we had a Striker with lighting pace, Ki would just kill every team.

With accurate long balls for them to run onto, I think he means.

He obviously does not realise that Stokes, Hooper and Sammy all have a decent burst of pace on them:rolleyes:

Where did I say they were 'lightning' quick.....

The three guys are fast - there is no doubt about it....

So only a guy who is this lightning quick can get on the end of Ki's balls? Thta actually makes Ki sound bad.

No, the initial poster said Ki would flourish with a 'lightning' quick striker in the team. So to say 'he obviously doesn't know Stokes Hooper and Samaras have a 'decent burst of pace ' is completely invalid. I'm sure he's well aware they have a decent burst of pace but it is also correct to say that Ki could really punish teams with someone who had even more pace. Noone even implied that only lightning quick players can get on the end of Ki's balls.

So it's safer to imply that Ki would be a much better player if the guy upfront was simply very fast?

    Anyhoo.........* the Rangers...mon the Malmo:bbpd:

No, but it's certainly a reasonable assumption that he would flourish (even more than he already is) in such circumstances. Indeed, indeed:50:

Seriously, some people here are getting high as a kite over one good game against a pretty poor Hibs side.

Its great that he had a good game, but lets wait till he has had a run of games in the side and shown the consistency that is required. For my money I would have Ledley and Kayal in the center of the park, but good to have competition.

The highlight of yesterdays game was that it looks like, after what seems like an age, that we have a solid CB in Kelvin Wilson who was majestic and didnt put a foot wrong.

And good to see Ki shooting as well, which was one of his let downs when he had a run last season.

I think the excitement is justified to be honest. His quality has been clear for all to see from the beginning. It's just a matter of him gaining in confidence and being more positive. There is very little standing in the way of Ki becoming a top, top player for us.

Consistency. Its all very well doing it against a lightweight and young Hibs side who pretty much offered little resistance.

Once Ki can do it in the middle of winter on a consistent basis against Dundee Utd, St Mirren, Aberdeen etc then we can start saying we have a real player.

Last season when Ki had a run in the team we had a spell in Nov/Dec where we dropped 9 points in 5 games. That is something that he has to address. To show more consistency.

Not putting him down, thought he was great yesterday and had a great Scottish Cup Final. But lets not get too carried away.

He proved he can provide consistently before the Asian Cup, in my opinion.

He was in the centre of midfield for the 9pts dropped in 5 games in Nov/Dec last season. And when he came back, Lennon obviously felt that Ledley and Kayal were a better option and we went on not only a great run, but our standard of play rose.

Thats the level he needs to reach on a regular basis. I think if we were now to drop the same points this season as we did at that point last season there would be serious questions asked dont you think? Lennon and Ki and the rest of the team got away with it because the team was still forming, but we need more consistency this year. Not just Ki, but everyone.
