Yes, im well aware of that. A lot of people have made the point, but I dont understand the relevance. Perhaps the faroe islands league is even better per head of population you still wouldn't want to play in it would you.

The Faroe league? And you're talking about missing the relevance?

My post pretty much outlined exactly why Wilson left Celtic, and why he made the claim that he did. Forget about the Faroe Islands. The simple truth is that a player doesn't leave Glasgow Celtic for a club like Nottingham Forest for football reasons.

I don't mean that as a disrespect to Forest, it's just a fact.

You've came on here just to wind folk up. Seriously, you'd be better trolling elsewhere rather than trying to antagonise people here.

If you want a reaction try a website like Rangers Media. They are very easy to wind up and react in the way you are seeking to get here.

Better still what about a Nottingham Forrest website?

If you can't grasp the fact that Scotland has 1/9th the population of England, roughly half the amount of teams to support and still expect the crowds to remain the same, you've clearly not thought it through too much.

Given there was 17, 000 at Hearts v Hibs is about the equivalent of Liverpool v Everton pulling in about 80, 000.

We appreciate we are a small country and our football is not the best, but there isn't any need for you to come on here with your condescending and arrogant attitude.

Come back and try and take the * out of us if you actually get in to the top competition in your own country.

    Has-been.

Not taking the * youth, arguing my point

    - I say Championship is higher standard than SPL, and higher attendances
    - You lot say, ah but we've got higher per head of population
    - I say that proves nothing, there could be higher per head of population in the Faroe Islands, or Norway, the SPL is still a smaller league than the Championship.

That's not a slight on the Scottish people, it's a point about the nature of the league Wilson is joining. Anyway, Scotland certainly holding their own tonight V England.

Doesn't change the fact that he's right. The "per-capita" thing on this forum gets thrown around way too much given how ridiculous it is. England would have to average something like 120k/match to average the same as Scotland. Obviously things like economics get in the way as you can't build big enough stadiums to get the average high enough. When you look at the US then it ends up being something like we'd have to average 400k/match. China would require over a million people per match for the same stat to be true. It's just stupid.

He wouldn't have saved Lambert's bullet header though.

He moved down south for family reasons, not footballing reasons. Anyone who believes otherwise needs their heads looked at.

    Are you sure about that?

Here's the quote from the Telegraph article.

Wilson explained his frustrations with Scottish football. “Having been at Celtic we constantly dominate every game because, well, it’s Celtic,” he said. “Here it’s more even and you have top quality players, top quality teams and every game is going to be a battle.”

Family reasons yes, but footballing benefits also.

    Doesn't exactly sound like a patter-merchant.

I've had the misfortune of visiting Nottingham once and the best thing they could do would be to bulldoze the entire shithole and start from scratch. Got to question the mental faculties of a man who is happy to move back to a * toilet of a city to play for a manager who treated you with less than zero respect.

I'd be pretty disappointed if I was to learn that big Kelv used the "I miss my family" thing as a cover story to seal an exit from Celtic for footballing reasons. If he wanted to go back and play in the Championship because it's more competitive then, although I would think he's silly to swap Celtic for Nottingham Forest, I would rather he was up front and just came out and said it.

I'm still willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and believe that he's gone back down the road primarily for family reasons. I don't understand why he'd want to play under Billy Davies again but that's his problem not mine.

I wish him all the best down the road, he did a good job for us and I liked him as a player.
