Jinky is one of the greatest players of all time. It's not really a bad thing not be as good as him.

I don't know what Sammy you have been watching if you think all he does is run about and fall over.

I don't think that pistil in particular was expressing ny love for him. I'm just pointing out that not being is Jimmy Johnstone isn't really a fair criticism.

But yeah I really like watching play and I think he brings a lot to team.

I would agree with this. What kind of sum would we have to pay to buy a player that is producing in the big games time and time again? Quite a lot I imagine. He knows what's expected here, loves the club and is an experienced player. You have hit the nail on the head with your post.

Even when he plays bad, he now can pop up and score a goal, especially in Europe. He has become a very important player for us.

It seems people on here just cannot wait for him to have a bad match or a lower class of performance so they can get back to the bashing. It is no longer just a good run of form he is on, he is now a very important player for us, especially in the big matches.

I don't think that fans are like that at all mate. Sammy actual gets less stick than anyone now, I think some fans are a little bit guilty the way they treated him before if im honest.

He was a total waste of a jersey when he headed the ball into the net, you're 100% correct. You're just embarrassing yourself now. The fact you resorted to selective quoting and ignored what I went on to say about the Benfica match sums up your weak argument.

Well thats your opinion, in my opinion his performances are constantly under the microscope, more so than other players. I am not saying that they start slating him again, I just feel that the expectation level is so high now.

However, people don't always like to be proved wrong.

Me too mate i didnt want the fella anywhere near our team! I thought the same of wilson! I thought the same of brown! I thought the same of mulgrew! Forster ...Christ theres been alot of players ive not wanted to play for celtic and have proven me wrong and im * glad to see a celt prove me wrong and prove people in charge of celtic are there for a reason! Every player deserves criticism and points in his game highlighted to improve. no player is perfect! But a man who gives his best most the time has been highlighted by (debatably) the best player in the world in xavi as a threat, and has scored in 5 consecutive AWAY games in the CL cannot be criticised in a team like ours! Sammy may look unconventional at times but he gets the job done! He isnt the greatest but he will definitely do for me at this point in time! People will i can guarantuee pick holes in this statement but i couldnt give two * the man is comin under scrutiny for having one bad game in my book!

Would he have been a waste of a jersey if the goal he scored had put us through? Stop talking pish.

Jinky's one of our legends, so if Samaras doesn't deserve to be considered in the same light (which he doesn't), then I fail to see how you can consider him a legend.

So it's Sammy's fault we didn't get a draw or win in Benfica?

The man can't win games unaided. The rest of the team were below par and Sammy was no worse than anybody else - he scored a goal though so he gets pass marks purely for that imo.

Wow show me where I said he had played pish, go on! To play pish you'd need to play badly, do things wrong. I can't recall sammy doing much wrong in either game, sounds like you just have a problem with Sammy...

It's as if the people that have always remained positive about Sammy want a written apology from the ones who once didn't.

We were * wrong okay? We are GLAD we were wrong and GLAD he has turned out to be a valued member. So stop talking pish.
