Put a sock in it Adam. Just get your head down and keep doing what you're doing.

    He was asked the question.

Is he supposed to say 'no comment' to any question regarding how far this team could go?

It's going to have absolutely no effect on what we do on the pitch, the players are confident but there's no chance Neil Lennon will allow them to get ahead of themselves.

His comments don't bother me in the slightest.

Past experience would suggest you are wrong here. We've all seen Celtic players shooting their mouths off in the press before and falling flat on their faces soon afterwards.

The players should just shrug off any questions about going unbeaten or the Treble.

If something one player in our squad has to say is going to effect our results on our way to the end of the season, you must be * yourself when you see Broony leading the huddle team-talk.

    * knows what that man would be saying.

In all seriousness, I honestly don't think that story is going to have any negative impact on us.

Thing is, it's not just a matter of the effect it has on our players. If one of our players comes out in the press and says 'yeah we can go unbeaten till the end of the season, definitely' then all he's doing is putting a target on our back. Players in every other team in the league then want to be the ones to burst the bubble. Obviously opposing players would want to burst the bubble anyway, but making those kinds of comments in the press just exacerbates the situation.

I always find myself going 'aw no again' when I hear Celtic players making comments like that in the media.

Hopefully you're right and it won't have any negative impact at all. :50:

Fair enough, I do get what you are saying.

I honestly don't think it changes the way our players are going to play or the opposing players.

The main point being it's not as if he's shouting his mouth off, he was asked the question.

    I'm not picky.
    Agree with you both here.

I think the last thing we need just now is for players to come out and do a Sally and a Jellylegs, especially two days before we're due to face Hearts at Tynecastle.

I mean yeh if they are asked the question then answer it the way things like that always get answered. "Hopefully we can keep going the way we are and we will see but we will just take it one game at a time" or something to that effect.

Things like this have a way of coming round to bite people of the * so it would be wiser for players to say as little as possible about ANY cup wins never mind the treble.

As is said in the clip above - "Never * with a winning streak"

I honestly think people's aversion to players coming out and telling the truth about how confident they feel is based largely on good old-fashioned superstition.

It's like a subconscious, "Oh *, he might of jinxed it now."

That combined with the old self-defeating Scottish thing of "not getting above yirsel."

Me, I'm pleased to hear our players' self-belief. :50:

You may be partly right but let's face it, in recent seasons Celtic players have made a bit of a habit of running their mouths in the media and then failing to deliver.

If our players were full of bravado in the media and then going out on the park and delivering the trophies to back it up then I would be happy for them to say whatever they want.

Exactly. There was another thread on this last night and I said then I didn't get why people were bothered. If he had said the opposite then I'd be bothered. I feel the same as him. Big hurdle Wednesday night and after that if we win I can't see us being stopped.

can't see it really affecting us,and tbh i doubt he even said that, was probly worded completly differently and the media twisted his words to get a headline...would be nothing new.

Pretty sure the interview was taken from SSN after the cup draw and he never said we'll win every game. Again a "journalist" making up headlines to cause disruption.
