Got to laugh at the fans who think Lawwell can do no wrong the guy is a parasite, alienating fans, telling us who is a "real fan" and acting like he can do no wrong. He has done well with the balance sheet but we are a worse club since he has been running things IMO!

The very sight of the guy makes me sick these days. He has tarnished Neil Lennon with his own brand of sleaze and Machiavellian behaviour. He criticises the very lifeblood of the club, the fans much too often yet takes no responsibility for his own mistakes and failures.

I'm pleased that the majority of regular rebels fans have taken steps to cut the rebels out and the daft banners. Looks like the UEFA fine has had an impact. Take notice for * sake. All your going to do is damage the club/get yourself a life ban if you don't.

I was half expecting a Rebel backlash because of the UEFA fine, so maybe not your typical St Johnstone away game. Also heard the atmosphere created was amazing.

In my opinion, it was a stupid banner to showcase. Stupid, stupid idea.

Theres nothing wrong with them anyway, just cut out the " up da ra " stuff and were grand.

As for the banner it was petty and stupid but still a storm in a teacup matter for me.

That your favourites? Good luck with that. Think your bus numbers will be going down by the week. Hope you realise the way forward soon.

I do not mean to be insulting, but talking to you and similar rebels on here reminds me of Rangers fans greeting about not being able to sign the Billy boys and the famine song. Obviously the songs are not as clearly offensive, but the same attitude.

Another thing, Celtic supporters are always making up songs. No need for rebel songs that have f**k all to do with the club or football.

Nah, not heard 'Up The Ra' since all the controversy started happening. Not enough for them it seems.

The same attitude? Are you implying that I am racist?

And the PMFA bus is fully booked up so much so that I can't even get on it and it's my mates that run it :icon_mrgreen:

There's always the * bus for the home games though.

    That's your opinion.

I would rather not go to the games than sit next to certain fans. Time will tell how this all plays out, but if BOTOB & ROH are banned then it is truly disgraceful, IMO.

Two completely inoffensive songs, but NL probably thinks we are all thick for singing them but we are really intelligent jumping around and singing JCGE. :87:

Sadly I disagree. Nothing a self-styled mock "rebel" likes more than a bit of attention and people telling them not to do something. It is like telling a child who keeps saying something naughty: "if you say that one more time, wait and see what will happen". Pretty much certain they will do it just to see what happens. Then hopefully they get bored getting into trouble and so eventually stop it as they realise it isnt worth it.

    Hope you are right though.

No i'm not. I mean your attitude about giving up signing Rebel songs the same as the Huns attitude to giving up billy boys etc. I knew a few that said they would never stop signing it, season ticket holders. Ha Ha, Hun *.

I'll go back to what i said originally. Why does it matter to you so much?

Think we can agree the vast majority dont want to hear it, both club and fans.

Never have I seen such a condescending attitude on this site. Can you please expand on what you mean by 'Rebel Songs' and how exactly they will get us into any more bother?

Why is there a need to sing either?

I think you'll find the vast majority of Celtic supporters infact do want to here it, go into any Irish Pub in the world and it is awash with Celtic colours and the rebels blaring.

The funny thing is you don't even know what you are arguing against at the moment. Boys of the Old Brigade and Roll of Honour are and always have been perfectly legal and acceptable to sing, infact the funniest thing about this is that it wasn't even a rebel song we were fined for it was a Celtic song we were fined for.

So it's time to get off your high horse, take a wee look around you and realise what exactly is going on here.

Can you tell me what songs it is that you don't want to here at Celtic Park and why they offend your sensibilities?

Read back my other posts in this thread and you'll find why I cherish our heritage.

I've noticed that and when you actually ask them pertinent questions they get patronising without actually answering.

UEFA do not allowed "political" chanting under Article 11.2: ""the use of gestures, words, objects or any other means to transmit any message that is not fit for a sports event, in particular if it is of a political, offensive or provocative nature". As they have shown, they consider IRA chants to break these rules, and with all attention on the support now for the next couple of seasons unless these songs are stopped I see no reason to assume the fines will stop first.

We may debate about what rebel songs refer to the original IRA, or the provos, or anything else. But UEFA will not care. They do not allow political chants - particularly provocative ones. And like it or not the vast majority of people see singing about what is officially a terrorist organisation to be "provocative".

The SPL have also today tightened their rules to prohibit: ""using words, conduct or displaying any writing or other thing which indicates support for, or affiliation to, or celebration of, or opposition to an organisation proscribed in terms of the Terrorism Act 2000." Doesnt take much imagination to see where they are going with that one.

And like I said the only song we have ever got in trouble for is actually a Celtic song. Roll of Honour doesn't contrevene any of they rules.

Although it'll be quite amusing to see if that law is applied even handedly.

The incident at the airport the other day is Lawwell all over.

I think the supporters that were there must have been pretty restrained as I would have been fuming if I had just came back from Italy watching the Celts, and then to have a * like Lawwell in my face giving me stick, and calling me all the *.

    You're basing this on?
