Can I just say, I've made a lot of posts in here but I'm still 100% behind the manager.

I'm disappointed in the way he spoke about the fans but we've all said stuff in the heat of the moment that we didn't mean.

your sentence implies that hes made that statement about every single fan than went over to Italy.

He didn't, hes blatantly just said that about a handful of fans. The ones that had that daft banner that's achieved nothing other than splitting our support and possibly landing us with another fine.

And to boot the same fan has allegedly assaulted a steward.

It should be those guys you should be mad at, not the guy whose risked the safety of him and his family to take charge of the club.

If you were in his shoes last season would you have stayed on? something to consider

Weve all got our own opinions and even if we disagree on some things, everyone on here will still be 100% behind the team

Arguably his comments were ill advised but everyone makes mistakes and says things in the heat of the moment. Lennon was probably angry that the performance of his lads was overshadowed by a banner

The question was what would it take to draw a line under the incident.

I think it's pretty obvious that he hasn't managed to draw a line under it, wouldn't you say?

We are all in it together for me mate.

I know there is plenty of people on here who think that this a juvenile way of looking at things, but I was brought up to think of Celtic as a family and you always back your family up.

That's not his fault though is it? It's the fault of those who misinterpreted his words to begin with and now won't accept this clarification.

Is Lennon not part of the celtic family?

At the end of the day hes doing what he believes is best for Celtic. Your not always going to agree with the actions of every other Celtic fan.

Were definitely not as scummy as rangers fans but our support still has to behave itself and not give itself a bad name

I honestly don't see how's he has clarified them.

If the "surprised they could spell it" comment was not a reference to the GB banner spelling error, then what precisely was it supposed to mean?

Lennon was 100% right to let the morons with the banner know exactly what every Celtic fan with half a brain thinks.

What were they trying to achieve? We have already been fined by UEFA and these clowns attract more negative publicity to the club which Celtic can't be seen to let slip.

Celtic fans are known as the best fans in the world and we want to keep it that way and leave this type of behaviour to Sotlands shame.

I find it amusing in here how some posters are pointing out how some of us are easily offended. Irony.com

Is every reference to spelling a dig at the GB? It's been pointed out countless times in this thread already that he may well have been having a go at the intelligence of those behind the banner. Of course he may well have been having a go at the GB. He has come out and stated he wasn't. That's not good enough for you, so it's your problem man.

What are you on about martyrs for?

I'm stating facts - if they weren't real Celtic fans then they'd have been nowhere near Italy on Thursday.

I think anyone who believes it wasn't a dig at the GB is being very naive.

If Lennon has came out and tried to claim that it wasn't then it shows he's realised his mistake and is trying to backtrack.

He's got more faces than a split diamond it would appear.

No problem for me. I'm neither in the Green Brigade nor involved with the people who made the banner.

The person whose problem it is is Lenny himself. He has made a rod for his own back, with many of the very people who might otherwise have been his thick-&-thin supporters. If results on the pitch take a turn for the worse, I fear his account at the Bank of Goodwill has been substantially depleted.

Personally, I still like him, although I feel his comments were ill-judged.
