Agree some how but that * that didn't pay was making the train delay and there was no way the older Guy was going to make him get off on his own

Yeah it's so much easier just to pay the correct fare in the first instance. It would have saved himself and everyone else a whole lot of trouble.....People on here are saying he is at Uni so perhaps learning the correct fare for his journey isn't beyind him.

Whats happening today is youngsters are pushing there luck all the time as they know that the law is on their side, just look at the riots and all that. Fair enough he tried to skip on the train, loads of people do it but it's his reactions when caught and asked to leave that sums up everything that is wrong with kids nowadays. Seems to me there is a complete lack of respect and it's this that gets reactions from people as a lot of folk are * right off with it, me included.

...on News that Police are investigating a complaint from a member of the public. I can see the big man in court soon.

Aye they know who he is apparently so it's guaranteed it will go to court. Despite the video, I'm not so sure the case will be cut n dry. The video won't be allowed as evidence and the fact that the incident has already been highly publicised in media will work in the big dude's favour.

Hope the anonymous "Big Man" serves some time. The way he acted was absolutely diabolical, and is typical of many intellectually depleted meatheads who like to take things into their own hands simply because they are bigger than others. One can only suspect that if he's willing to physically intervene with something as minor as this then he's probably used to bullying people in bars/nightclubs too. Complete walloper.

Also, the boy had apparently fallen asleep on the train after having a bevvy with some mates. Something I have done a few times. He was probably disoriented and had no idea why the conductor was shouting at him.

“He’s diabetic and all his things were in that bag – his medication, his university notes, his money, his mobile phone and his ipod. But he’s been thrown off again. This man has to be charged and have his day in court.

he couldnt pay the fare in the first place. Guy was being abusive and aggresive to the train conductor and holding everyone up there was no way he was going to just get up and walk off the train. Guy may have been a bit hands on but at the same time he was holding up the train being a * and needed to be kicked off the train one way or another. A passanger throw his bag out to him so he never lost anything

The video starts with the conductor shouting "awff" if memory serves me correct, how do we know what was said before that, maybe the conductor started being rude first, maybe he checked the ticket then roudley shouted "awff" with no explanation or polite questions, i could be wrong as im at work and cant watch the video again .

Guy that recorded it was on BBC News this morning and said it had been going on 5 minutes before he started recording. Said he was going to offer to pay for the boy before ' he started being cheeky ' or words to that extent. So who knows what was said before.

Bit of sympathy after seeing the injuries sustained. Did look a bit extreme the way he body slammed him when he tried to get back on.

It didn't say he couldn't pay the fare, he wouldn't pay his fare. He stated that the person who sold him his train tickets had screwed up. Don't know about you, but if I had already paid for something then asked to pay it again because of a mistake outwith my control then I wouldn't sit back and accept it. It wasn't about affordability, it was about principle. He wasn't holding up the train at all, the conductor was holding the train up - he went against Scotrail regulations which is to report him to the police and await the next stop for police intervention. Instead he was rude and shouted at the young lad - shouting 'afff' at someone is as disrespectful as it comes. He was then assaulted by someone who shouldn't have been involved, received cuts to his face and wasn't able to retrieve his belongings. All this because some jobsworth couldnt handle an everyday situation.

I wonder if the conductors side of this story will be heard ever, I geuss not cos his employment contract will forbid it.

Why do people on here keep saying the boy held the train up??!!..NO..the conductor held the train up..something a Scotrail spokesperson says "he shouldnt have done" to prevent train delays!
The spokesperson also says the conductor went about it all the wrong way by..
    (a) Holding the train up.
(b)not offering the boy to pay the fare with a fixed penalty at a later date.
(c)Keep the train moving and having the boy ejected by British Transport Police at the next stop.
(d)Trying to get the public involved by saying "Aw these people are gonna get mad at you".
(e)Taking a back seat when "the big man" grabbed hold of the boy!

To me, the conductor has alot to answer to as he went against everything his employers train him to do which ultimately caused mayhem!

Believe me when I say it, that conductor will get his * chewed for that. If he's not paid his ticket fine let the police deal with it. You can't just get random passengers throwing people off the train if they've not paid, that ticket examiner should know better than to let people start a scene on a train.
