Yet again the luck of the Italians steps in. We were the better team by far tonight and we deserved to be through. A few controversial decisions by the officials but what can you do when things never go your way. Great saves by Forster and an all round great performance by the team.

If we play like this on sunday we should take care of st johnstone with no problems. It's a pity the referee allowed himself to be fooled in the first leg and we would've been through. I can't see udinese going far in the Europa league.

I feel physically ill. Great effort by our young lads.
I can hold my hand on my heart and say those lads gave it everything and have performed excellently in every single game in that group. We can look back on a couple of Cha Du Ri mistakes and penalty decisions that went against us but the fact of the matter is we're out.

I have to say I'm so proud to be a Celtic fan right now, prouder than ever. We just matched the team thats top of Serie A. Ahead of AC Milan, Roma, Lazio, Inter Milan, Napoli and joint top with Juventus. We could argue we even deserved the win! That was a full strength Udinese team.

All I can say is, I can not wait for next season to come around. Hopefully we get a better draw or even get into the CL. Neil Lennon has stuck to his word.

He has brought back the thunder
    In Lenny we Trust. :shamrock:

Also, may I add, Fraser Forster is a * hero. Absolutely outstanding by the big man tonight. Long may it continue.

Oh I get it - you mean it's hard to get the ball off him, cos by the time you get near enough to tackle him, he's already * passed it to you... :56:

Cha wasnt the very worst but he was one of them, brown was the worst, Ki did ok and kayal was invisible, wanyama was solid at the back and madge was bad either, mulgrew was good at the back but * going forward and passing, while cha was * at the back but ok going forward, Hooper scored on an open net but was pretty mediocre otherwise stokes did nothing when he came on and bangura well was on for less than 10 minutes, samaras was immense the first half and ok the 2nd forrest while he looked dangerous at times was ineffective overall and his distribution was horrible, Forster was MOTM for me kept us in it with some amazing saves time and time again

Nae luck Celtic, You did not disgrace youself against a top Italian team. All credit to you !
To be honest I am not gutted about being eliminated from the Europa League as we can now concentrate on the SPL. ( heck, we were never going to win it anyway ) )
We have a team here who can go forward with great confidence for the league ahead. Celtic, go for it !!

Replay shows their goal was at least a yard offside.

thought we held our own against a very good Serie A team on their own turf.

Samaras played a blinder. couldn't find a bad performance in the team. Brown made two misspasses, that's the only downside to that performance imo.

that's all i wanted tonight was to show up and i feel we did. shame we went out but i feel it was written in the stars before tonight. that goal against Rennes away and that we should of beaten Udinese at Parkhead. just our luck, eh.

Overall a great result and a proud showing in a very tough group. Hopefully with time and continuity, and hopefully investment in a couple of quality players, we can push on to the next level.

I'm going to say it one last time - I know no one is listening. When we defend, the whole midfield runs back with the defence, time and time again! Why. The. *. are we doing this?? It's obviously something they work on, but all it does is give the opposing team time to pick a pass/cross/shot and puts all the pressure on us. If we don't change this, we will win * all this year.

It also means that any balls headed clear falls to the attacking midfielders from the other team and if we somehow end up with the ball, the gap between midfield and attack is massive and it gives the other team time to mark-up.

Does nobody else notice this, or am I mad?

Brown and Cha were the only two culprits for me. Majstorovic is improving with each game and it looks like he's finally getting some confidence back into his game.

Forster and Samaras were outstanding and wee Forrest made up for a poor second half display at the weekend with his performance tonight.

A good effort tonight and a good effort in the comp as a whole key points:-

    Conceding early goals against Atletico
Never a Pen against Udinese we deserved the 3pts
Cha's Og against Rennes cost us big time another good performance
Great Counter-attacking performance at home against Rennes
Atletico at CP did kayal duck? or did he get a shout. Thonk we were a bit over-awed at times and that was with Falcao starting on the bench too much respect shown to reputation.
Cha's diabolical defending tonight was embarassing and could've cost us 2-3 goals on another night! in my opinion not fit to wear the jersey ever again utter pish.

In a Champions league standard group we aquitted ourselves well and i'd like to think gained some of our self respect and mutual respect in Europe back!!
Well done Bhoys a good effort now lets go get our title back!!

Brown was obviously still not match fit but the level of abuse being hurled at him Cha and Maj is way over the top at times.

Lennon saying we should have had a pen and picking out Samaras, Hooper, Ki and Brown as good performers along with Forster.
