Caldwell isn't a full back. I think Strachan will see Caldwell and Mick as first picks in central defence. He will probably use O'Dea sparingly given his young age. I still think Caldwell will go on to be a good player for us. That would make Wilson as first pick for right back if Telfer leaves as we expect.

I am not convinced by McGeady at all. I'd also like to see us try Naka in a more central position. He is our best (outfield) player and I think he'd be more involved in the middle.

What we have been seeing in recent teams is the oppostion have doubled up on the wings and took their chances in the middle of the park (as Hartley is * and Lennon holds, we have not made alot of chances) however with that midfield we could steam roll teams imo

 

and gary caldwell was awful at right back, he doesnt have enough pace and energy to play at rite back, his crossing is also poor, brink back mr telfer if hes fit

becuase he is not a right back, he doesnt have the attributes to be a right back, if anyone with pace comes up against him we're screwed, big time

Caldwell at full back is a no go. At the moment play Telfer and hopefully when he goes Wilson will be back to his best

 

How can you say no to Caldwell due to pace and then suggest Telfer???!
I'd take Wilson over Telfer tbh. And Doubme has to have at least ONE look into the first 11 this season!

 

Thats the worst game I have seen Caldwell play, go watch the tape and see how many balls he gives to the opposition or to nobody, * woeful, or lose in possesion having to backtrack chasing the * player that he lost the ball to?

 

neither caldwell or telfer have pace, but telfer has much btter crossing ability
