Should have been a draw there tbh. Sammy was really good. Ki was ok but no better.

I wonder how we would've fared had Hooper and Stokes been up front in a 4-4-2 to begin with.

Thought we were excellent for the most part, nothing but optimism for the future off that performance.

Played fantastic if we can sort the defence out we could have a right good chance in Europe next season.

Because Brown is our captain and our players respect him? Personally, I would have brought him on for Forrest, who looked tired, but I wouldn't fault Neil bringing on Scott. It was the right time to do it.

why the *, do you take a goal scorer of, only to field a Eeyore the donkey on the park., what chances are we talking about on here they where all over us in our box like a rash and if you cant see there chances, well * help us when you are giving the rest of the fans, hope when really you should
say it as it is a struggle, there are no positives.

We'd have at least got a draw had Hooper started. You could see the difference he was making when he came on, in terms of us going forward.

MOM-tie between Sammy and Loovens IMO. In the first half Stokes. Ledley and Wanyama were excellent.

Dodgiest were Maj and Forster (although both did some good things)

Overall that was a very enjoyable game of football. Cant believe some of the negativity in this thread.

Normally I can make a little bit of sense out of your mundane and pointless ramblings, but I got lost on this one.

i know kayal was probably at fault for their goal but he was our best player but dnt be fooled athletic had one or two stone wall chances - we had a few half chances. hooper was awful throwing his hands up every five minutes no effort no commitment tonight its easy to knock them in against st mirren but real character is judged when under the cosh- kayal could have cowarded away but came up to the plate all over the pitch, after his mistake. stokes mundane but had nothing to work with but put
alot more effort in . forrest i thot tried his best few good runs.
ki didnt no he was on the pitch to the free kick another one lacked desire and even his passing was poor.
The defence well mulgew mathews didnt do much wrong, not even talking about the other two.

ah well could be worse we could be dead buried but lets hope for a miracle.

We only made one change. Ki coming in for Hooper. It made sense. It helped us keep a great deal of possession throughout the game, and Hooper has looked low on match fitness. He'll no doubt start the next league game.

Energy to close down and get the ball back. Stokes was fading and had not looked great.

Side thought: does anyone else question Gary's first touch? Don't get me wrong I am a Hooper fan, but is it me or does it vary from being great to being disastrous quite often?

Yea I agree - dont know how Lennon is playing him at the moment, but *, he really is much more effective than previous and a great addition to the team, so much more so in the SPL. Looking forward to the future !

    Bingo. We hardly played badly.

We aren't a european force anymore. We imo did our best tonight with the resources available.

Well done Bhoys. Keep up the goodwork and don't let the heads drop. The Europa league is a bonus this year remember.

    #inlennon we trust.

The better team lost in this game, we at the very least deserved the draw. The worst part is they will get more credit for that win than they deserve.

Kayal knows he should have stopped that ball and if he did we could have easily won.

I felt we at least deserved the draw. There were some mistakes in the lineup I felt though. Hooper and Mulgrew should have started. I didnt have Mulgrew in my preferred lineup before just because I didnt know he was ready to play.

Positives: We're still in this competition if we beat Udinese away from home (very unlikely but possible) AND we're still in the title race. Lets * the terrors over the weekend and continue on.

There are a lot of good players now at Celtic and only a couple of positions do not have quality. This could be a great Celtic team in the making. We need to go out and get a good CH and keeper in the window. Lenny has a very decent group of players now so its down to tactics now and he will stand or fall on this title.

Also I dont understand how anyone on here can be criticising loovens because quite frankly he was keeping us in the game while our keeper wasn't.

    Very good performance.
A draw would have meant very little so losing wasnt too bad. Think we can win in Italy. :shamrock:
