of course, I actually didnt hate the pats until the cheating scandal, belichick is a giants legend and every giants fan always had and still has a great respect for him, but he basically cheated to beat the rams in the super bowlm and the pats fans are very arrogant, so are boston fans often without any history to back it up :bbpd:

Yankees are destroying the rays 7-0 and boston is up 1 run, cardinals are also up 7-0 while the braves are only leading the phillies by 1 run

lol a rain delay in baltimor, last game of the season with wild card on the line basically means that they cant call the game even though its past the 5th inning, this could make it really hard for the boston huns

Papilbon blows the save... Red Sox give up 2 in the bottom of the 9th & lose to the O's, 4-3 & TB clinch the wildcard, beating the Wankees in the 12th inning. :31:

Hope Kenny Dalglish & Liverpool fans appreciate how much money that has been pumped into that club over the summer, because I dare say John Henry is going to have to dig deep into his pockets to get the Red Sox pitching up to scratch.

Well done, Cards. I was watching that game & looked prety comfortable... guess it was more about what the Braves were going to be able to do against the Phillies.

With Boston out, will be hoping one of the NL sides can go on to win the whole shebang now.

Nope - I'll still be singing 'Tessie' loud and proud.

    "Don't blame us if we ever doubt ya;
You know we couldn't live without ya -
Red Sox, you are the only, only, only..."

Oh, and BTW, Wlly... you guys are still the evil empire. :bbpd:

The Red Sox let themselves down badly over the last month of the season. No doubt about it. But I thought the Yankees were well out of order last night.

Any other night of the season if the Yankees had been 7-6 up going into the bottom of the 9th inning they would have put Mariano Rivera out there to close the game. Last night they didn't. Why? Because they want their star closer to be raring to go for the post-season? The Yankees next game was 2 days away so that bullshit excuse is cutting no ice with me.

I hoped and prayed so hard that the Red Sox would sneak into the play-offs and meet those * in the ALCS when I saw them refuse to use Rivera. Revenge will just have to wait until 2012. But I will savour it when it comes.

I hope the Tigers sweep the *.

There was no reason to put mariano out there, the game was meaningless to us, the whole point of the game in the first place was to give the young kids a chance, also you always want your bullpen as fresh as possible and Mo has pitched alot this month, also we wanted to throw some young pitchers our and give them a chance, the Red sox or any other team would have done the exact same thing

The game might have been meaningless to the Yankees but it wasn't meaningless to the Rays and the Red Sox. I just feel that by not putting Rivera out there, in a situation where they clearly would have at any other time, the integrity of the game has in some way been interfered with.

I wonder, if the Yankees had been leading the Red Sox 7-6 who would have closed the game? My guess is it would have been the sandman.

I'd love to see the stats on how many times the Yankees blew a 7 run lead this year and how many times they led a game by 1 run in the bottom of the 9th and didn't use Rivera.

The yankees started the series with their minor leaguers starting, this last week has been all about the fringe players staking a place for the playoff roster, it would have been unfair to put mo in when he is already obviously in the playoff team. Any team would have done this if they were in the yankees position, no matter who they were playing.

Wow what a night in baseball last night. Unbelievable to put it mildly. St Louis and Tampa Bay both playoff bound after over turning big deficits late in the season. Amazing stuff. Watching the Red Sox collapse because of the way those final games developed in Baltimore and St Petersberg was incredible. You just can't believe what your seeing but it was really happening.

Well I have no dog in this fight so to speak but I understand the rivalry that exists between the Red Sox and Yankees is the big one in baseball so I understand where your coming from. But really revenge are you serious? For what? The Red Sox went 8-21 in September and blew a 9 game lead. They need to take care of there own business. The Red Sox have nobody to blame but themselves for blowing it.

The facts speak for themselves. This has been by far one of the worst Septembers I can recall the Red Sox having in a very long time. Considering they threw away a huge wildcard lead means that the nation needs to be looking at what went wrong internally, rather than lashing out at others for protecting their own interests.

Just hope the Tigers can give the Wankees a mauling, but more importantly, whoever makes it through the NL can win the whole shebang.
