Fair doos pal not critising anyone for supporting Scotland dont get me wrong i have and will continue to keep an eye out for results or watch the bigger games but Scotland to me is what Celtic are to fair weather fans I suppose well kind of......But I am really passionate for the Hoops

Just think in the past Celtic players have been overlooked in favour of others

I.e JJ TB the list goes on who have a low number of caps more recently I cant understand why Mulgrew gets overlooked

i have always wondered why or how celtic fans could support scotland. fair enough they may feel a sense of patriotism towards their national team, but considering the actions of the footballing governing body in scotland and the supporters who attend games i have found it difficult to understand fully.

looking back at the disgraceful treatment of the lisbon lions in terms of international caps, the treatment dished out to celtic players from their own 'supporters' at hampden (and to be honest these instances weren't really that long ago), the actions/feelings of the sfa and scottish fans in general towards celtic, has always made it obvious to me why many scottish celtic fans have no love for the scottish national team.

Club, 100 million % unless I was from a country I could support then it would be equal as id probably support them. Id say I was more of a Scotland sympathiser than fan.

PS. How many people here knew Gunt and Mygirlmaria had voted Country before even checking?

I think about celtic everyday in one way or another, i'm very patriotic too, but can't say i think about the scotland squad that often, but i bet all scots bhoys on here saying they don't care would all be back on board, if we had a world cup qualifying team, much like the guys who take the cream puff and say they aint going back to parkheid when time are rough:rolleyes:

A lot of huns dont either to be fair.

I think its because Scotland are pish and always have been, never getting to the knockouts of a tournament etc

So our das, never really liked Scotland (Huns and Tims) because they were used to supporting winning teams, so we grew up(their kids) thinking Scotland were pish and not getting into it either.

Probably like how most(or so it seems) Irish people support Premiership teams and Celtic. Because they grew up thinking their own League was pish and had less interest in it.

i had always understood the huns were very much in the majority at hampden for scotland games, and was certainly a factor why the celtic players got the abuse they did :39:? although it is only recently, they have been replaced by hearts, aberdeen, motherwell fans etc?

Celtic, every day of the week. Never been into international footie at all. I'm the type of person that dreads international weekends as it means not going to support Celtic and if your really unlucky some of our players might come back injured.

    Aye but not now though.

The majority of Scotland fans at games dont support Celtic or Rangers I would say.

That would have been 50's and 60's where the Scotland team was like half the hun team it woulda been full of huns. Guys born in the 60's and their kids born later who are tims or huns is probably 50/50 or lower in favour of not supporting Scotland.

why did the huns change their views on the scottish team?

would be correct to say the majority of scotland fans today are made of the those 'loveable rogues' from tynecastle and fir park etc?

Aye probably, I for example do not know a single person who goes to a Scotland game out of probably hundreds of people I know all of whom barring 1/2 support Celtic or the huns.

I think the main thing that a lot of Celtic fans and huns dont support Scotland is because they are pish, we have maybe become glory hunters over time and just never got into supporting Scotland because they never do anything and its just got worse and worse with each generation.

I bet if Scotland had a few world class players again some people would turn. Like if Forrest, Wilson, McGeouch, Ness, Keatings, Feruz were to turn out like Ferdinand, Gerrard, Robben, Pirlo, Eto'o, Rooney class then all of a sudden everyone would be come mad Scotland fans :56: but at the moment and the past while because we've been pish nobody cares about them.

we pay the players wages playing for your country puts more pressure/game time to their all ready busy schedule then the other factor is its more games where players pick up injury's sometimes career threatening ie see John Kennedy. Such a talent wasted playing in a meaningless friendly against Romania.

It's Celtic first as far as I am concerned, then country. It doesn't mean to say that I don't want Scotland to do well, I just want Celtic to be succesful.

For some Celtic fans it could be but I think mostly its just because they're pish.
