Not a great performance but excellent result. First time this season we have shown character and desire to win a match. I thought Kayal was superb today again, leading by example and passion. The result all the better as it was after a mid-week european game. Just need to keep consistancy going...

No guarantee we will win the game in hand though and judging by today's performance there is more chance we will lose it.

 

a wins a win but were papering over the cracks . lennon is not getting the best out of that group of players . its as simple as that . man management is terrible . defending is as bad as ever . my view hasnt changed . we need to change the management . its only a matter of time before the next defeat comes at this rate .

McCourt did play well when he came on today. But for me, he should only be an impact sub, he started against Rennes on Thursday and he's just not the same player when he starts for some reason. Big fan of the guy though.

Cant believe we win away from home against a good murderwell team and people on this are STILL against us!! Papering over the cracks pish, 12oclock we were 15 points behind now were 12 with a game in hand, to me thats progress! Cmon the bhoys. Kayal back to his best

 

We got kicked black and blue today. Still got the 3 points. All that really matters.

We've just won away from home to one of the best sides in the league...

 

Well that was a relief. Afraid it's not going to change much. We are still a very poor side at the moment. I think they had 11 or 12 corners to our 2 or 3. They looked hungrier and were first to most of the balls. The referee was very lenient to them though, that was a factor too.

Winning when you're playing badly is always a good sign though, so winning when you can barely string together 3 passes must be * briliant.

Kayal is playing better now and you see a huge improvement when he does. I He has some rough edges, but i'm liking Wanyama's composure in the midfield, he won a lot of headers and put in some solid tackles today as well. Matthews played really well too. I wish Samaras would grow a pair, he is such a sullen little madam - put your big 6' 4" frame to use man! Finally it's great to see Stooper at it again, Stokes in particular is finally putting in a shift.

Lastly, and I always ramble on about this, but for * sake, CLOSE DOWN the opposition. There are less crosses for our defenders to deal with if we push out faster, why no one has rectified this after half a season is beyond me.
