    Excluding your own whether you're Scottish, Irish, American, English etc, what's your 'other' favourite national anthem? For me I don't think you can beat La Marseillaise (France), it's such a powerful song, especially if you know what the lyrics mean. The Star Spangled Banner (USA) comes a close second for similar reasons, great song. Lied Der Deutschen (Germany) is third for me because like the previous two when you hear it you immediately understand why you would sing it at the top of your voice, chest puffed out and hand on heart if you were German. So what's yours, and why? Any really obscure ones out there?

    Is the Dutch national anthem (called Wilhelmus = William) obscure enough? :icon_mrgreen:

    No offense to anyone :86:

    OT Italy's national anthem is a fine one (it's mostly the only highlight of an Italy match)

    When a 11- year old- girl sang La Marseillaise without instrument at Albertville Winter Olympic games, I was young and didn't know the lyrics but I thought the melody was so beautiful. I remember I was little surprised when I've heard of the meaning of lyrics, afterwards, though. ^^;;

    South Korean and Russian/Soviet anthems- that's my dilemma.
