Why would supporters who support the British Army's occupation of Ireland want to support Celtic?

Wrong! The queen herself recently laid a wreath in memoriam of the men sung about in the Boys of the Old Brigade!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

And as noted already, this song, as well as many others appears on a list if songs which have been cleared as ok to sing at football matches!

The hardcore Celtic support have the appetite for singing a rebel song or three.

    Simples.

oh great this tiresome, boring, repeatative argument, seriously we have bigger problems than a couple of rebel songs. And why are some of you blaming the green brigade, pretty much the only good thing aboot celtic at the moment.

Also, maybe the events of the last time we played at that rathole made the fans more resilient and tried to prove a point that we will not be silenced or intimidated by their illegal actions.

Well they were not exactly supporting Celtic were they? I mean whats the * does the IRA have to do with Celtic? and don't say if you know your history as I have read the history books about Celtic and the only time I have seen the IRA mentioned is when Jock Stein told "fans" to stop singing about the IRA as it has no effect on the players.

And I travel 6 hours to go to every home game so don't try and make it look like I don't go to games.

so how does that make sence?, we are based in scotland, we were formed in scotland, how are we irish?, brother walfrid being irish does not make the club irish.

Well, CP has 15,000-20,000 glory hunters who attend every big game. The ones who didnt bother during the early 90's. Remember our average attendance was approx 38,000- 45,000 when we were at the old CP. The fans who go to away games would not fall under that category. Thick and thin types. Celtic fans.
