Levein is pretty hopeless as a manager and I dont think he could cope with the pressure at Celtic. He flipped over very minor criticism of Scotlands last performance.

What experience has he had? A failed spell in England, er, Cowdenbeath and a spell at Dundee Utd when he won nothing. Though to listen to him you would think he was Johann Cruyff.

His tactics while Scotland manager have been frankly embarrassing at times.

It's down to the fact they have a settled starting eleven and have kept the spine of their team for about 3 years now.

Because the Orcs arent as bad a side as we keep saying they are. They have a decent spine in the team and , even with no money, went out and brought in players to strengthen their weaker areas. Something we still havent addressed in 3 seasons.

It was their youth team. They had a total of 64 Serie A appearances between them.

And you think that we can win the league with Forster in goal, then I'm afraid you're misguided.

4-6-0 aside, I think his tactics have been fine, spot on even. Remember, he's only managed 4 competitive games with the losses against SPAIN and Czech - the Czech one was a pretty good showing mind.

He done well with Hearts, Dundee Utd and pretty well with Leicester in a 15ish year career to date.

All I'm saying, is if I could attempt to be impartial, and there was a hypothetical job at club X on offer - Levein would be given it every day of the week on current record. I think to deny that would be insane.

Well Lenny should do the same with MON/GS, if this is the secret to being a successful rookie manager!

I have been slated a few time myself in the hun thread for slightly praising there team.I have said all along we aren't as good as people think and the Huns certainly aren't worse.for years they have had a good keeper and solid defenders and always seem to score loads of goals.it was always there midfield that let them down.

My point was Celtic should not be taking risk with inexperienced managers

I dont agree. I dont like him as I think he is a self publicist. A 15 year career is quite long to have not actually won anything. And for an experienced manager to be so naive in the initial games against Lithuania and Czechs then that would be a worry for me.

Some of his international selections border on the ridiculous. Gary Kenneth? Really? When he wouldnt consider Mark Wilso, who has CL experience, or Charlie Mulgrew who would give him more options. Those are just examples.

    So, not for me.

I dont see what successful record he has to be honest.

This is how it feels to be Celtic
I've been actively watching and supporting Celtic as long as you have mate. Just because we have lived through the barren years doesn't mean we enjoyed it. Young fans are as much die hard Celtic as we are. They and we have the right to voice our opinions without being told we not true supporters.
You'll remember the 90s well and how it felt. Well we were just as critical then as we are now. We're all trophy hunters, which fan isn't, but we have still and will still supportn the team through good and bad times. Playing or managing Celtic doesn't mean you are above being criticised. Faithfull through and through, but Lenny needs help. He's just not up to it yet.

The board could have helped by saying "here is the money to buy real quality". Instead of taking the cheap option which has held us back.

Lennon did well last season with some great signings on the cheap, but that sort of luck cant last. Generally you get what you pay for.

People have selective reading - As i said before you wonder what our scouts are doing. do we buy defenders off "You Tube" apart from Kayal & Izzy they have only been the 2 standouts. The dark side always seem to sign decent defenders. Weir,Bougherra,Boumsong,Papac and have always had good keepers....we just seem to buy useless players who cant defend period.

True but managers without any experience are a far greater risk

Experience goes a long way,you don't become a great manger in 2 seasons

The most relevant experience is that Levein has built two very entertaining SPL teams in his time at Hearts and Dundee United. He may not have won silver at Dundee United but he was absolutely robbed in a cup final when Rangers won. I think he is a tactically sound, non-bullshit manager who impressed me with his ability to spot good cheap players at his other SPL clubs. He is one of those hyper competitive, touchy kind of managers but that often seems to be the personality type that does well in Scottish and British football. I honestly think he is the sort we need. Nothing will persuade me otherwise. We need exactly the kind of manager that our fans tend to dislike.

I think the problem here is simply £££.

Maybe the board are prepared to pay upto for arguments sake £4m, but perhaps Lennon has identified such level targets as not being a £4m worth of improvement of what we already have.

So I wouldn't be so hasty blaming the board without facts

There have been plenty of times in the last few seasons when Gary Kenneth has looked a much better old style CH than what we have.
