We should offer them £1m plus Paddy or £1.5 and Paddy for Matt Phillips .

Forrest and Phillips on the wings = [IMG]

I would keep Paddy. He is a brilliant option to come off the bench when things aren`t going our way. But he would probably be better leaving for his own career. He could thrive at a team like Blackpool

We don't need to sell, he wants to play for us, he wouldn't get us much money, he's not earning a lot, talented footballer, great from the bench too. A must keep IMO.

as much as I think McCourt is quality it might be best for him to move on if he isn't getting a game.

here we go again another Paddy topic hes obviously not good enough he's so far down the pecking order its unbelievable, if as a winger you cant get in front of Samaras who is a forward then you have Ledley and Commons back to fitness makes him what 4th pick maybe more for the left wing? Lets say all 3 of them were injured i think Lennon would actually go out and buy another winger instead of McCourt, hes not good enough for Celtic or he would have been a regular by now.

Time for him to move on it cant be any fun sitting in the stands if hes as good as people think far play to him he'll be the one that got away every club has them but i dont think he will be tbh. Before i get the anti-irish brigade moaning at me im not anti-irish just anti-players that are not worth the time and any more investment 4 years is enough.

The amount of times there's been a thread on Paddy not getting a game should tell you that we should sell him, would be best for both groups IMHO.

Knew you would reply to this. I don't disagree that the team has been playing well and Forrest is flying on the wing at the moment, my point is simply that Paddy is too good to not be playing so if another team can give him a start more often, maybe he should look at his options. It's an awful waste of talent.

Things you have said about Paddy.

    1. He can't last 90 mins. - Clearly nonsense as he has proved many times

    2. He is so far down the pecking order. - True because of Lennon, but Neil isn't right all the time, look at Majstorovic & Rogne

    3. He is a one trick pony. - Not said much now, this man can do the lot

4.He is always injured. - Is this really true, where is the evidence?

In conclusion I think he should leave, he is too good to waste his career.

When I think of Paddy now I don't think about his jinking runs, good though they are, the game against Petehead comes to mind.

It was approaching half-time, we were huffing and puffing & getting nowhere. Paddy gets the ball, moves across field, another sideways pass I thought, but no, one swing of his boot & Samaras has the perfect ball & sets up Stokes.

In Celticfc's report Paddy's contribution isn't even mentioned.

    Typical

    1. He can last 90 mins because we he doesn't have the ball he does * all.

    2. Strachan, Mowbray and Lennon, neither of them had him as a starter. Big Dan done very well before Celtic and our clean sheet record with Rogne is superb.

    3. He can't do the lot.

    4. Dunno.

I like Paddy, but he's vastly over rated. I don't think we need him anymore and would happily sell him.

i agree with you. if he wants more game time, he'l have to move along.

i wouldn't mind him staying as i think he'd be a great influence on McGeouch but then i think he wouldn't be offering anything to the team apart from a coaching role to one player.

i'm afraid his time at Celtic is drawing to a close. others have deserved their chance and tbf to them, they've taken it.

if McCourt goes this window, i wish him the best of luck.

Hope we see more of Paddy in the near future. It's a shame how this season has went for him. I really feel/felt that he could help make us champions.

His off the ball work is not as bad as made out. Think it was the 1-0 Aberdeen game last season his tracking back not only won us the ball back but also allowed izzy to bomb on and set up Stokes to win us the game. He also chases lost causes - again in the huns game at Ibrox last season his off the ball work was impressive. He did well when he had a consistent run in the team around christmas last season and only dropped out the team when we signed commons who hit the ground running and paddy didn't get a sniff afterwards.

you just hit the nail on the head he has 1 or 2 good games A SEASON!

If he was to make it here it needed to have been week in week out, the guys a wasted talent and tbh i think he's got himself to blame (please dont give us the he never got a chance because he's had plenty) he's obviously not applying it in training to have caught either of the three manages that have snubbed him. He's like what my old school report cards used to say 'could do better'. Paddy your numbers up im afraid.

I feel really sorry for Paddy. He loves this club, and obviously would love to play an active part in winning silverware. I would love it if, for example, Lenny put out our strongest team against Falkirk at Hampden this Sunday, but instead of having Sammy (or Commons) on the left he just dropped Paddy in to show he still has a part to play. I know this won't happen, but i would love it if he did.

I mean, look at the Peterhead game. We were struggling to break down a lower league side, and it was approaching half time. Then BANG! Paddy sprinkles a bit of magic into proceedings, sends a beautiful over the top to Sammy who then sets up Stokes for a tap in.

I'm probably seeing this all through '* Army' tinted spectacles, but the fact is, i love the guy and really want him to stay.
