It's not so much the team selection for me. That team shoud have been good enough to beat them. We were 2-1 up, got a gift of a decision (at Ibrox), to keep us 2-1 up, and we just had no cohesion, belief, desire, urgency, tactical nous or skill on the ball to stop themn running amok.

What are the management team doing to instill these elements into the team. I am so disheartened by the ease with which team scut through us. Can the management not see the need to mark runners and stay switched on the whole time? There is very little movement off the ball and no one wants to stand up and be counted.

When you consider Mjallby, Thompson and Lennon are coaching them ,I fail to see where this lack of simple basics comes from.

Mate, it's the internet. It gives people the platform to make constant un-thought out, spur of the moment moronic comments. Take no notice of most of them. Most of the posts in a match thread are the sort of thing that goes through a persons head for half a second during the match, and they've just wrote it down.

I adore Lennon as a person, but his tactics and decisions bewilder me sometimes. Mulgrew was a liability after receiving a yellow card, Samaras was not troubling the Rangers' defense, and the whole Celtic team were lacking passion.

We have got better players in every area of the field than Rangers (except Jelavic is arguably better than our strikers, and McGreggor better than Forster). But McGregor didn't even have a good game today, YET WE STILL GOT HUMPED.

    Why Celtic, why?!

Got to say the honeymoon is well and truly over. Lenny has been in charge for a year and a half and (other than a 3 month purple patch last spring) he doesnt look like he is up to the job when it comes to crunch games. Think we are paying the price for the board going for the cheap option in management. They knew too that Lenny was so popular that fans would let their hearts rule their heads regarding Lenny. We need a proper experienced manager. This is about Celtic not Lenny. We dont need an L plate manager. Why the * are we letting a guy learn his trade in the top job in Scottish football?????????

Bottom line is he needs to step down too young a manager no experience changes the team far too often buys haven't been the greatest this summer and doesn't have a clue about tactics and I could name more bad points but the point is he's not a manager would much rather prefer him in a coaching role he's the type of guy that can get a team fired up but never a manager we need a good experienced manager to take us back to the days we could actually compete in competitions like the Europa league and go out every week knowing you were going to win with Lennon you don't have this sadly:54:

As some posters have said OK lennon is one of us but it does not give him the devine right not to get criticism. The job in hand is too big for him.

How much time though? Not winning the title this year would be unacceptable.

Second year? MON and WGS by 18 months in were well on their way to their 2nd titles and we were doing well in the CL The Lennon cult is heart, not head. Why in the name of ghod do we have a novice in charge.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.....Lennon has the temperament, pedigree, management skills, and all the other attributes I like to see in a Celtic manager. He needs time.

You suggest we keep hiring and firing every year until someone wins the league?

El Kad was muck today. People might say he scored with a great strike etc. etc. but that was 100% down to luck and rotten goalkeeping.

the 'one of us' pish is the green equivalent of funny handshakes and humping goats. Its backwards, irrelevant and we deserve to fail is being 'one of us' is a consideration in manager selection.

He won a trophy and 92 points in the league last year. Last season his side didn't concede a goal at Ibrox, and has beaten Rangers 4 times, more than he has lost against them.

Lennon's tactics left a lot to be desired today. We were 1-2 up at HT and he set us up to defend for 45 mins in the 2nd half. This is impossible to do when our defence are not a solid unit who have played together week in, week out for a number of weeks. Defending deep is also not 'the celtic way', we should have taken the game to rangers at the start of the 2nd half like we did in the last 15 mins of the 1st half, it's the only way we know how to play.
Leaving Forrest and Ledley out the team was partly the reason why we were poor too, why change a midfield that has played well together recently?
Celtic had no fight in them today, last year Lennon instilled that mentality in the team for the old firm games, yet it was lost today. Why?!
Why does Lennon feel the need to change our strikers for a game against Rangers, Hooper-Stokes is the best partnership in the league and their link up play is great. Playing Samaras changes our whole team's style of play as we revert to the long ball and takes out the effectiveness of our midfield.
Lennon has had a year and a half with his team now, he needs to become more tactically aware and have less of an attachment to some players, i.e. Brown and Samaras.

He was responsible for our defeat IMO. Every time he tucked in too late. No doubt people will do the usual blaming of Loovens, Sammy, Broony etc but there is no doubt that the problem was the last man on the left when crosses came in from the right not tucking in until too late.

Disagree funnily enough. We need more "Celtic fans" in the board room down.

There were half a dozen huns playing in the hun team......it showed.

No stats matter a fck other than who wins the silverware or how far we go in Europe. Stats mean nothing. They are dependent on the relative strength of the rest of the SPL and it was at an exceptionally low level last year. Winning a cup means zilch at Celtic. Only the title and European respectability matters.
