:84::icon_mrgreen::icon_mrgreen::icon_mrgreen: after spending two days of web surfing and deciding where to go for a trip this november the wife and i decided to go to scotland (Edinburgh) it was eather london or dublin till yesterday but i wanted to go glasgow while in europe and do my best to watch a celtic game, I Showed her pictures and videos of edinburgh and she loved it so thats perfect for me. i was told by some of you glasgow is only 45 minutes away drive so ill have a car to get there 45 mins is nothing considering thats what i drive every day to get to work! i think celtic plays st mirren that week end so i will more than likely try my best to make it to that game and was also thinking that if they put celtic in europa league i might go to that if i can find tickets ofcourse, it would be great if some of you that are planing to go to those games would like to gather t and have a drink before or after the game or even go to the game together :84: i was supposed to have gone to glasgow this past march but i was low in money so i didnt make it so now that i have a chance i want to enjoy every minute of it.:celt_2:

You are going to have a fantastic time. When I first visited Scotland, it was Edinburgh that I first really fell in love with. It is extremely tourist friendly, with plenty to check out & it's only about an hour on the train across to Glasgow, so hopefully you'll get to catch a game whilst you are about. :50:

(Edit - obviously, that was before I started living in Scotland, lol)

Agree with this. I have drove through areas at Glencoe and, for me anyway, it's got a kind of atmosphere about it. A bit like Culloden moor as well. Thought it was all fantastic.

To Glencoe? Probably about 2 to 2 1/2 hours, give or take the odd few mins or so.

that would probably be about right timewise but not so sure it'd be a good idea in november fab. up that neck of the woods their is a good chance their will be snow and im guessing you've never driven in snow before? could be a lot more hassle than it's worth if something goes wrong

As long as you drive carefully & don't speed then you should be ok as the roads can be very twisty in places :50:

Would definitely be careful if you go over that side of the country though at that time of year as it is VERY remote in a lot of areas and can have only one road in or out of places. Would still recommend it though just so you can experience it :50:

i'm not trying to put you off at all buddy it's just something to consider. as CelticBhoyDavid has said some of the roads are twisty, challenging roads at the best of times but in a few feet of snow these can be treacherous. it is a beautiful part of the country no doubt but driving up there in bad weather would challenge drivers who are used to driving in the snow all the time, let alone someone from mexico who doesnt see snow very often.

I hope you have a cracking time when you come here mate. Edinburgh is Scotland's most beautiful city. I would recommend going to see Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh Zoo and the National Museum of Scotland(loads of interesting stuff in there).

Take a walk up the Royal Mile as well and if the weather's good you should climb up to the top of Arthur's seat. You get a fantastic view of Edinburgh and down the east coast of Scotland from up there.

    Aright mate,

I'm an Edinburgh Bhoy born and bred so if you need any help or info don't hesitate to ask.

I stay in an area called the Shore which is lovely with plenty of pubs(which i frequent:86:) and restaurants. Its 10mins outside the city centre with plenty of buses running to town frequently. Public transport is very good and cheap compared with other parts of the UK.

Hope to be of help. :50:
