    I'm not picky.
I don't think they could have been kicked out prior to the first leg because no one knew if the ineligible players would have been played or not. Once it was known that the players had played THEN it has to be investigated. Fenerbahce were done for match fixing so UEFA didn't have to hang around to kick them out.

Also if Sion are kicked out the place cannot go to another Swiss team because how can it go to a team that wasn't even in the competition in the first place? Celtic were playing Sion so if Sion are kicked out then Celtic should progress because they were the team Sion were playing.

It's starting to get annoying now as well because it was said last Friday I think it was that Tuesday was set for the hearing date (unless I read it wrong and was just media speculation that it would be today). Starting to turn into quite a bit of a farce now because a date SHOULD have been set for this Friday at the latest. To not set a date for it as of yet is ridiculous.

Also, it can't be a PR trip for FIFA & UEFA if they don't kick Sion out because they will just look stupid. Platini and Blatter have publicly stated that Sion have "broke the rules" and for them not to be punished would be insane and the only PR they would get from that is the bad kind.

I've said it before - if Sion don't get punished for this then it will set a precedent for other teams to follow suit and sign & field players whenever they want as well. How can it be one rule for Sion and another rule for the rest?

I think they will get kicked out, its the mess that will ensue that will have fifa/uefa holding their bums.

The Court for Arbitration in Sport will give it's verdict today on Sion's appeal against FIFA. If this goes against Sion it will effectively end Sion's legal attempts to rule the ban on it's player recruitment.

It would not mean that Celtic would automatically be back in, but it would be a matter of course for UEFA to meet and rubber stamp our return to the competition. The appeal by Celtic will be heard by UEFA soon, and regardless of civil action by Sion, could still see us back in the Europa League. If Sion win their case in the courts, chances are UEFA will back off, but they could still rule in favour of Celtic, it just means that Sion could claim compensation from UEFA.

The ruling later today will bring everything towards a conclusion. Let's hope the court sees sense.

Yea but there was nothing stopping UEFA kicking out Sion prior to the group stage draw taking place.

UEFA need to get the finger out here, there should have been procedures put in place before the second leg of our tie took place for a 'what if' scenario. The decision should have then been made before the draw, this would also probably have allowed us to be in pot 2.

Apparently there's a chance the game could be postponed if we get the decision and they appeal, etc.

The longer it goes makes me think more in favour of them getting a decision to be honest.

Any Celtic fan that doesn't want us in Europe this year is talking absolute crap and should take a look at themselves.

The team needs the money to go forward in the coming years. Fact.

Wouldn't mind trips to Madrid and Udinese in the middle of the mundane and soul-destroying games against the likes of St.Johnstone.

The importance of European football to Celtic cannot be under-stated.

Blatter is a Swiss national and UEFA's HQ's are in Switzerland so perhaps a home-town decision is on the horizon?

Sion clearly broke the rules thousands of other clubs have to abide by.

For that alone they should be expelled.

i said yesterday that the way the way uefa were talking to the media that it sounded as if a fudge was gonna happen

they played illegal players in the 1st * leg at celtic park, everybody knew about it! as it was reported before hand that they would play them, even though they knew that they shouldn't

so in that case uefa could and should have kicked them out after the 1st leg and if they try and say that no one complained at the time, that's a load of crap as it was all over the internet.

the fix appears to be in, in my eyes, probably some bollocks about the wording of the ban or something and they'll be allowed to continue in the tournament.

if that's not the case what they gonna do ? have us all waiting till a day before the game before telling us, it smell like *.... bullshit.
