Think they will be kicked out but we don't deserve to take their place

If Sion get thrown out and we get awarded 3-0 for both games will Dans red card be rescinded ? This is the down side to us getting through.

To be honest I'm not embarrassed at all if we get reinstated. We should have put them away but they broke the rules. Rules that Uefa warned them before the first leg. A rule enforced by Fifa, Uefa and The Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The last thing I'd like to see though is the club and support feeling sorry for ourselves if we do get in. Denmark got in through the back door for Euro92 and didn't do too badly did they.

Why shouldn't we be in it? They CHEATED! Plain and simple. If it was down to pure footballing merits then maybe but that's not here nor there because as has been stated by myself and other people before, two of their goals were scored by a player that shouldn't have even been playing.

If we played the huns - whether it was in the league or a cup competition - and they played a player that was not eligible to play and he scored the winner EVERYONE here would be going *' nuts about it :31:

Would it still be considered an embarrassment if the decision was overturned into our favour? No, we'd all be saying we deserved it because they cheated.

I think we will get re-instated and we should count ourselves lucky to be getting another bite at the cherry cake, Platini and some other big wigs are making helpful noises in support of us. I willingly will take it as long as Lennon drops Majstorovic, and gives Stokes a fair crack of the whip.

Even if this did happen he shouldn't play again after that what he done. Yeh he would be let off big time but only on a discipline matter. The fans wouldn't let him off with it and Lennon shouldn't either.

They will be doing what they usually do when it comes to us and common sense - taking a back seat, cowering like a kid in a classroom not wanting to be picked out by the teacher.

One wee precision to this: It wasn´t FC Sion or their chairman who took UEFA and/or Swiss FA to civil court, but they asked the players to do so personally! <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

Civil Courts consider football players as „employees“ that have the right to work if they have a contract. The question is: How the * could they get a contract if their „employer“ was not allowed to „employ“ them!

FIFA (as supreme authority of the „profession: football“) took a decision to deny FC Sion to sign any new „employees“ for a given period, which I assume they are perfectly entitled to do. However FC Sion still did sign new players („employees“) during that period, and fielded them, so they deliberately broke the rules. To me, it´s as simple as that.

Consequently, the players they fielded were ineligible, and from a purely legal point of view, they have to be banned! I just cannot see any loophole in there!

Now, if the rules are applied accordingly and we enter the UEFA group stage from the backdoor, I´d feel a wee bit embarassed indeed, but I´d gladly take it!!

Will this be a one time-final hearing or can these things go on fir weeks/months?

I believe uefa know sion have a case to answer as well as celtic v uefa (lost earnings) if the outcome isnt satisfactory.

These are very murky waters for uefa especially, as there power/control as an organisation is under threat.

The precedent being you can't cheat and sign players when banned to do so!
Good precedent to set I think

The case itself will probably last for months, but UEFA have to take a decision about who´s playing in the group stage, the cheating swiss or us, so I assume they´ll decide on this next Tuesday. They should have taken it well before, but...

What happens from then shouldn´t affect us if Sion are banned and we enter the group stage; if not, we´ll certainly take legal action ourselves for "lost revenue" or so...

If a team is put out of a cup competition, then they have the right of appeal, the cup competition continues though.
In 1972 when the dark side won the wee euro trophy, they were effectively put out in the second round, sporting Lisbon drew 6-6 with them then beat then on penalties 5-1 I think, it was then shown to be an error and tankers progressed on the away goals rule, they accepted being back in and went on and won the trophy after being "eliminated" Zion have broken the rules end off, there should be no debate no shame,
