Celtic vs Wolves.

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by Scarecrow, Jul 26, 2011.

  1. Im a big fan of Wilson but Matthews does look the business, he's as fast as * and controls the ball well at pace, a good height with good distribution.

If I was Mark Wilson id be panicking tbh :56:

Its probably as tight between Wilson and Matthews, I like Cha too as it is between Ki and Ledley now.

He made an awful tackle on Gomez at Wigan, but the rest is pretty much what you see everyday of the week.

After the Newcastle game the BBC highlighted all the challenges on Saint Joey of Barton, which only one of the ones that Henry did was a foul and the media jumped on the bandwagon. They also forgot to show the elbow that Nolan did and the foul that caused the injury to Van damme.

why play in your own back yard and let the next door dog * all over yer pitch, the team that you have put up have not played more than 2 games together, and giving players as you say time, why whats that all about, you will never make honey out of dog *. and i am sure the second team plays ever day or second day at lenoxtown, so there is no real shock there seeing there ability, they played tonight just as you described a second rate team playing in front of fans wanting to see our first team march on. don't think anyone said tonights game was to be played by Celtics second string. if that was the case the game would have been better being played in wolves ground. just not a happy chappie getting beat at home with any EPL team, and it is hard to take when you make it easier for them.

Watched most of their games last year and it's correct that they get special-treatment from opposition hatchet men, particularly in central midfield.

Away and watch footage of the challenge in question then come back and tell me its wenger being over-sensitive.

You maybe right, but I can't remember him pole-axeing an Arsenal player. He got sent off the year before for two yellows, but neither were particularly bad challenges.

Fabregas should have been sent off for a stamp, though.

I wasnt going to go but went after seeing the trialists would be playing and wanted to see more of Wanyama.

Welcome to the forum, mate. Basically what has happened is that we've arranged various pre-season fixtures, and then the SPL have moved forward the start of our domestic season by several weeks. We've had to get our second league game postponed to let us fulfil our commitment to play pre-season(!) in the Dublin Cup (against Man City, Inter, and the LoI select).

Upshot is that it's become a priority for us to keep our 1st team players free of injury etc, hence us playing a 2nd string against you guys.

All the best for this season. :50:

  16. Good night.

A few Wolves fan were arseholes outside the ground singing GSTQ which was met with a good traditional Argentina chant. They were obviously looking for a fight but the mounted police separated us from them so * them.

I saw a few Malmo fans inside the ground they had a huge Larsson flag. :icon_mrgreen: Awesome people.

I thought Matthews played at left back for most of the game and only switched to Right Back when Cha was taken off. Cha looked extremely fast tonight, Wilson might find it difficult to keep either of these two out the side if Lenny wants to go for Speed.

forrest was the star of the game for me he absolutely terrorized the wolves left back who just couldnt handle his speed. In my eyes he should at least be considered to start over brown on the right hand side for all of our home games

The folk in that thread are actually talking sense (well, some of them). At least they acknowledge that we are a huge club and that we were basically playing our reserves against them last night.

Don't agree with their man for man assessments, some of the understandable bias shining through there. If we had played our first team tonight against the team they were playing, we would have hammered them. The team we fielded created some good chances and on a different night, our reserve side would have beaten the first team that they were playing. Not to mention their first goal was a set piece and their second was an OG.

I don't see any reason to panic.

Dont think we'd hammer them but i reckon we'd beat them by the odd goal, i think our passing is superior to theirs.
There was a few who said wolves are comfortably better which is daft.

All in all they were ok though,
