There was talk that Genk had already had an offer accepted for him, and that celtic were raging that they were not told.I thik that Celtic were really * by this.

Racing Genk are closing in on replacement of Thibaut Courtois. The club has reached an agreement with Polish club Jagiellonia Bialystok concerning 21 year old Gregorz Sandomierski.

The Belgian champions still have to find an agreement with the Polish international.

Sandomierski was also followed by Celtic Glasgow, however, the Scottish club had lost their interes after having rejected an offer of € 800.000 last week.

The Polish club wants te receive € 2.000.000 for Sandomierski.
How much Racing Genk will pay, is not known.

 

At first he wasn't our first option, but now he is. We first wanted Jasper Cillessen of NEC Nijmegen, but NEC is asking a ridiculous 6 million euros. Also Ajax is intrested, so we dont make a chance for him. We were also intrested in Tyton (Roda JC), first keeper of Poland, but he was to expensive too. There were also some rumours about Kaminski (AC Beerschot), but I dont think Genk was THAT intrested in him. Last week Urko Pardo (Olympiakos) tested here and he made a good impression: He'll probably be signed if they fail to sign Sandomierski, but its looking good for us.

I think that's it. I'm kinda suprised that Celtic doesn't want to bid higher. Celtic is a financial good club, right? Kinda weird to me.

 

If this is the amount of cash we are prepared to spend on an international goalkeeper * only knows what is in front of us.

We * Pletikosa, reports are he lost quite a bit of cash coming for his "trial". How can you trial a guy with 82 caps? But hey ho this is Celtic.

Spend the * money ffs for the last * 3years we have lost the league because we have not sorted out key areas within the squad by spending money and missing out on the champs league due to this and the riches it brings the club. .

Ever fealt like putting in an offer for your season book instead of just paying celtic the asking price?

 

It's a much bigger risk missing out on prospect like this than giving extra hundred grands. He could be our keeper for couple of years and potential value is few times larger than what we've been asked for now.

Ridiculous to miss out on chance like this because of a small amount like that.

 

To be honest i would rather have Fraser Forster. If it was between Forster and Sandomierski and they were both priced at £2M then i would take Forster! He already knows our players, knows the manager and backroom team and he was brilliant for us last season. He would fit in perfectly. I also have never seen Sandomierski so i really couldnt judge him on his abillities. I have seen Forster, i liked what i saw so i say pay the money for him!

 

FFS can we not sign him!!! Are there always doubts or something? First Pletikosa and Mphela, now Sandomierski. All would have been quality additions.

I think we have a right to ask the board, and Peter Lawell in particular, where the quality signings are that he promised in June.

This was before the goalkeeping debacle.

Our squad, which wasnt good enough to win the title last season has now not only failed to sign the keeper that kept 24 clean sheets (or any keeper for that matter), but has also lost the best player in the country to injury.

So on that basis , this squad is going to struggle to recapture the title this season.

Instead of laughing at the Orcs, we should really be asking serious questions of our club.

A couple of wins against , frankly, poor SPL opposition has so far masked our deficiencies. The test will come against Dundee Utd on Saturday and Sion next week.

This state of affairs has been coming since the season end. We have signed one player. Wanyama, who looks like he will struggle to break into the squad. Only Wilson who we signed in Jan looks like being an addition.

Annoyed me when Lawell came out and said that Neils job isnt dependent on the title when he is a major culprit in us capitulating the title the last 3 seasons with his poor board management.
