  2. CELTIC are confident they can tie up a deal to sign Polish goalie Grzegorz Sandomierski today.
Parkhead paymasters yesterday held talks with his club Jagiellonia Bialystok over a £1.7million transfer and they'll resume today.
The Poles want £2m for their highly-rated 21-year-old and while Celts' last offer was £600,000 short of that chief executive Peter Lawwell is hopeful a compromise can be struck between the two valuations.
The keeper's agent Radoslaw Osuch told SunSport: "Celtic's offer is too small but we will wait and see what happens.
"The difference is still quite big, that's the problem, but I still believe something can be done.
"It's up to Celtic what happens next."
Sandomierski is also being chased by Belgian outfit KAA Gent but he is desperate to hold out for a Glasgow move.
He is described as the new Artur Boruc and he is hoping to follow the ex-Celt.
He said: "Arthur's a legend there. I couldn't dream of coming close to matching his status at Celtic. I cannot be compared to him and I wouldn't want to be because everyone wants to make their own mark.
"I hope everything will be sorted soon.
"To be honest I am still getting conflicting information because the media are telling me different from the people at the club.
"Some already have me on a plane to Glasgow but I am still here so far.
"I don't know my future - it's getting a bit ridiculous. I get linked with clubs all the time but I never seem to move."
Meanwhile, Celts are weighing up a swoop for Dundalk kid Dan Kearns, 19, after the winger was a star against them in the recent Dublin Cup.

Looks promising:icon_mrgreen: If we do sign him, he shouldn't just walk into the starting XI. Fair enough, if Zaluska has a horror game then he can be dropped:50:

Would like to sign this guy, Kearns, an left back on loan and a good striker (or two):icon_mrgreen:

  4. Get the lad signed up and stop messing around ffs we need a keeper and need one now .

Polish keeper Grzegorz Sandomierski has revealed he is ready and willing to join Celtic – immediately.

But the wrangling between the Hoops and Jagiellonia Bialystok over his transfer fee continues, leaving the shot-stopper frustrated.

The Polish club are holding out for around £2million, while Celtic have upped their initial bid of £500,000 to £1.4m, matching what Genk have offered for the 21-year-old.

Sandomierski, on duty with Poland ahead of their friendly against Georgia tonight, hopes a deal can be agreed soon and would be delighted if it is Celtic who win the battle to sign him.

Sandomierski said: “If the offer is right for me and the club, I’m ready to go to Celtic. I’m ready to test myself in the SPL.”

However, despite his willingness to end Celtic’s search for a new No.1, Sandomierski recognises there is nothing he can do to make the transfer happen.

It is a situation which is taking its toll on the youngster who admitted: “To be honest, every day I get different information about my transfer to Celtic.

One day I’m in Celtic. Next day I stay in Jagiellonia.

“I would like to know what is my future as I want to focus on my play.”

Sandomierski is confident he is ready to take a step up in his career, but accepts he would have a fight on his hands to oust Lukasz Zaluska, who has started the season with two SPL shut-outs for Celtic.

“I know Lukasz Zaluska thanks to Grzegorz Szamotulski, who also played in Scotland in the past (with Dundee United and Hibs),” he explained.

“Maybe I am not big friends with Lukasz. But if I’m going to play for Celtic, I would have to work hard because he’s a very good goalkeeper”

Neil Lennon has made it clear that, with Newcastle unwilling to sell Fraser Forster, Sandomierski is his No.1 target. But the Celtic manager has warned the rising star that, if he does come to Parkhead, he would immediately have to cope with being compared to Artur Boruc.

That does not faze Sandomierski who said: “I know Artur Boruc is a legend there and I would have to work very hard to get my name bigger than his. But this is for the future. I will think about it when I am going to be a part of Celtic.”

Lennon is also still pursuing a striker, but has lost out on Shane Long who has moved from Reading to West Brom for £4.5m.

  12. Completely agree. Zaluska doesn't deserve to be dropped yet and if this new guy is signed, it may well sharpen his focus and determination to be No 1.

if we spend anywhere near the rumoured £2m asking price, you can bet your bottom dollar he'll be our new number one. Zaluska may still be first choice for the next few weeks though as Sandomierski won't be available for the the Europa Qualifiers and Lennon may not want to disrupt Zaluska's current mentality.

  14. Hope this can happen by the Dundee United game.

Although the deadline was on Monday, we're able to register 1 additional player up until the 17th I think.
