Top, top keeper. I rate Given higher but Gordon is younger, although some what injury prone. I think sign Gordon on a pre contract in January. We can not start the season without him being fit. I think he is out till October, so a none starter unless we get him for £2mil, for me Get Stipe Pletikosa in the meantime.

Great goalie, Scottish (I think it helps to have a Scottish core in the team) and last year of his contract so maybe not too dear. Only 29 years old compared to Given's 35. Only issue I see is wages. Will he take a cut in wages?

Total rubbish. He is an Edinburgh lad and its natural he supports one of the Edinburgh teams. Nothing sinister in that. Probably was playing for his boyhood team at Hearts. Also, if you apply that logic then you must hate Skippy for costing us the league.

only if you are daft. He was a pro footballer. I woldnt want a guy who didnt give 100% against us. One of the most sickening things I ever saw was the way when we were near stopping 10 we played Well and Coyne and Coyle blatently didnt try. I was delighted we won the title but those two went down to nothing in my estimation as individuals.

I thought he said he would never play for either of the bigotted teams in Glasgow.

    Definitely not a hun.

Born and brought up in Edinburgh, Gordon is a Hearts supporter. He helped them win the Scottish Cup in 2006 and that success gave him a taste for more. However, he also harbours ambitions to play in England and would not rule out a move abroad, either.

"When I was younger my first ambition was to play for Hearts and maybe one day captain the club," Gordon said in a Sunday newspaper interview. "After that I don't think it gets much better than the Premiership. It's rightly regarded as the biggest league in the world. If you want to prove yourself against the best players in the world that's where you have to go these days.

Whit ? What has Skippy got to do with anything ?

He played for Hearts; ergo he's already played for a shower of bigots. Not that I would describe our club as a "bigoted team".

hearts, rangers, it's all the same.

Would love him here but can't possibly see how we can afford his wages and transfer fee.

Given is more realistic, given the emotional pull.

    Seriously, how old are you?

I mustn't go to many games because i think calling some one a muppet is offensive?

Maybe muppet isnt an offensive word but in the context that you used it towards someone you dont know makes it offensive and to be quite honest there was no need for it all as all the guy said was that the link was from last month.

worth the gamble if we can get him for a reasonable price. he would have to take a wage cut but cant see any e.p.l teams giving him big wages due to his recent injurys

Both Given and Gordon are out of our reach both on transfer fee and wages next.

Would have him in a heartbeat. On his game he's an elite keeper.

Not sure if this has been posted already or not, but I remember that little snake coming up for a corner when we were playing Hearts a few years back. They had nothing at all to play for and we were needing the points to win the league.

I honestly feel like cringing having read through some of the comments in this thread.

Some people don't want Craig Gordon or don't like Craig Gordon because he went forward for a corner when we played Hearts. What the * is that all about? The guy was a Hearts player and he was trying his best to get a result for Hearts. That's what he was paid to do. What's he supposed to do......stay back in his box in case he offends a few numpty Celtic supporters? Geez peace man ffs.

And as for Craig Gordon being 'a hun *'. What a load of absolute pish. Ian Ferguson and Andy Goram are 'hun *', Craig Gordon is a million miles away from being anything like either of them. For a start he's not a Rangers fan so he can't be a Hun. This penchant some of our fans have for calling anybody who isn't a Celtic man, or who doesn't just lie down in front of us and let us pump them mercilessly, a 'hun *' is really lame. I wish people would snap out of it.

I'd sign Craig Gordon tomorrow if he was available at a reasonable price and would accept a wage that would fit into Celtic's wage structure. The fact that he's a Jambo, he used to play for Hearts or he once upon a time had the sheer audacity to come forward for a corner against us would not matter one iota to me.

He's a terrific goalkeeper and would do a great job for Celtic. That's what counts at the end of the day.

Would be delighted with an injury free Craig Gordon as he is an excellent keeper, but he is injury prone so not sure if it's worth the risk.

I liked Gordon because he did some Cystic Fibrosis fundraising a while back. But, the incident where he ran up in the last minute WAS ridiculous, it wasn't a season-defining game for Hearts by any stretch, and he didn't do the same thing against the huns, or other teams, in similar situations.

As a player, I think he is good, but in all honesty, not great, and personally wouldn't consider him better than McGregor.
