  1. What's to say the exact same thing isn't going to happen again? Once froch starts the steam train he doesn't stop, it's very hard for fighters to dodge him once he starts landing. Only one that's managed it so far has been Ward really, the kessler fight froch lost could've went either way

  2. What do you mean he is hyped to *? The guy has won his last 6 fights by KO in the first few rounds, and he still remains humble and isnt getting ahead of himself. He's a big bhoy and fast. Certainly one for the future.

  3. he's not really fought world beaters yet, still got a long way to go

  4. I think Groves bossed the majority of the first fight, got caught late on and was prematurely stopped. This time I think he'll adopt a more cautious approach and build up big lead, and probably only really open up towards the end of the 12th.

I agree the Kessler fight could've gone either way, but I also think that Froch clearly lost the Dirrel fight.

This is coming from a fan of Froch, I've been down to Nottingham a few times to watch him, but I really don't think he has the ability to match George Groves. I think he's going to need to rely on Groves making the same mistake twice and I don't think it's going to happen.

I've got my biggest bet of the year so far on a Groves/Martinez double, and I honestly see it as pretty close to a sure thing.

  5. Yeah pretty bad, another 2lbs he'd have been a stone overweight.
Dont know if its definate or not but I'm pretty sure that rules him out of a crack at the champion if he wins tonight.

  6. Think it'll be over by the 8th or 9th, just cant see this going 12 rounds, like you I think Groves will be a bit more cautious, while doing enough to win the early rounds...then hopefully go for it in the 7th or 8th, if he doesnt I've got a feeling Frochs stamina will play a big part after that, the guy just doesnt know when he's beaten.
Going for Groves in the 8th :50:

  7. That is * shocking mate, 1 fight away from his first world title shot, to come in that far over.... Something seriously wrong with him again or his camp..

Rocky fielding was slated for this very thing the other month and i'm sure it was a european title shot he * himself for..

That far over, only themselves to blame, and an unfair advantage over the opponents..

Kevin Mitchell has failed the check weigh-in for his Froch-Groves II undercard bout against Ghislain Maduma.

The 29-year-old weighed in at 10st 6lbs 11oz, with IBF rules stating he cannot weigh more than 10lbs over on the morning of the fight.

The IBF lightweight limit is set at 9st 9lbs, with Mitchell 12lbs over, and it means he may not get his subsequent shot at IBF lightweight champion Miguel Vázquez - the prize that awaits the winner of tonight's eliminator.

Congo-born Maduma, 29 and fighting out of Montreal, Canada, made the weight without any difficulty as he goes in search of an 11th knockout in 17 fights (16-0).

Dagenham-born Mitchell (37-2, 17KO) is ranked fifth in the IBF lightweight rankings behind fourth-place Maduma.

The pair go toe-to-toe in front of a sold-out 80,000 people at Wembley in the third to last fight of the night.

  9. How the * can u put on nearly a stone in like 16 hours?

  10. Hes been hanging about with this guy for to long! [IMG]

But in all seriousness Groves Unanimous on points is my prediction

  11. Anthony joshua is hyped to * and with good reason..

He's young, fresh, quick, powerful and looks a beast.. The fact he's still to develop is even more scary fpr those in the division..
He has everything to dominate the heavyweight division in my opinion..

It is important not to believe the hype and he strikes me as a good guy and quite likable ..

I used to be quite pally with a up and coming boxer from my area, a j carter..
A heavyweight that believed his own hype, fought the Ugandan champion in a 4 rounder and was hammered and embarrassing knocked out at the start of the second..
This guy was bummed up in boxing circles and believed the talk, he is nowhere near Anthony Joshua in ability and mind set..

  12. He has no excuse, i like Mitchell as well, the way in which he spoke about and took the defeat to ricky burns, was pure class..

Really easy to do when you haven't eaten much in the days leading up to a weigh in and are severely dehydrated.
