What is your first Celtic memory

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by PaddyBhoy, Jun 22, 2011.

  1. What is your earliest Celtic memory? What was the first game you can remember seeing...

I think my first memory was Larsson scoring a penalty v dundee united, it was in the season he scored 53 goals, so 2000/01, I can't remember the final score that day though.. but i think that's my earliest memory.

  2. Going to Celtic Park some time in the 1996/1997 season to see us beat Hibs 5-0.

  3. you remember that?

  4. My first Celtic memory is watching Celtic beat Dundee utd in the 1985 cup final, I was 7 and at a birthday party and it was on in the background, I was more interested in watching the game than the party

  5. Yeah, I remember sitting on my mum's knee and looking up around myself, I remember looking at the massive pitch, and I remember walking in the crowds of people either leaving or going into the ground.

  6. paul mcstay miss a penalty in the coca cola cup

  7. Not a good first memory mate ,probably my worst Celtic memory that one

  9. were you 16 at the time? :56:

It was 2-1, naka scored a late winner.

  10. I know i remember thinking i would love to see penalties never thinking that it we would ever lose. Thought that game was their for us and we should have beat them within the 90minutes

  11. Celtic beating Livingston 5-1 toward the end of the 2003 season, remember it for the wrong reasons though

  12. Was never really into football until I was about 12 but I remember, I think, was maybe John Collins FK against Rangers, or probably my 1st game against Dundee Utd in the cup in 95, which we went on to win with Pierre scoring the winner against Airdire.

  13. My first game. Big Stan scoring against Hundee and my dad lifting me into the air.

  14. I have 2 and I dont know what was first.

One was getting caught sneaking into Ibrox for the Cup final agaiinst Raith Rovers, I think I was about 4 and got caught and put out and started crying and my dad had to come back out but some random guy gave me a ticket and even though it was for the other end of the stadium the police let me back in and I sat on my dads knee :icon_mrgreen:

The other one was just a random match at Firhill Celtic V Partick Thistle, when everyone had to stand and I just walked about myself during the game.

Probably my two earliest memories as after that its when we won the League in 98 and beat the huns 5-1 when I was 7 or 8.

  15. watching the uefa cup final at my dads friends house. i was only like 7 so i dont think i was very aware of what was happening.

JVoH heading in the 93rd minute winner against the orcs :50:

  16. Really? :56:

    How old are ya?

  17. Going to see us at home to Hearts, it was round about the time Jorge Cadete had just signed for us.

  18. August 1995
    against newcastle at Parkhead

Can't remember the score because I was 5 at the time, but I do remember my bro asking when rangers were coming on to play cos he was a Hun, my da tried to convert! But failed but got mind twisted off my Hun bigot uncle...

  19. First full game I watched, my real intro to the Hoops: Celtic 4 - 0 Artmedia Bratislava, August 2005.

I was in Ireland for summer vacation, and this Celtic itch that was creeping in to me boiled over. Didn't have the match at home, so I got a ride in to Sligo and found a pub. We were down 5-0 obviously from the first leg, but I was still hopeful lol What a fitting first game to see a spirited come back end in disappointment heh. It's a bitter and fond memory at the same time! I was as nervous and anxious watching that game as can be, which is crazy considering it was my first time seeing the Bhoys. "Had me at hello" type of thing.
