    1. Itay Shechter - Hapoel Tel Aviv. Has been injured almost all season long, but every Israeli football fan knows what he's worth and how big his potential is. If Hapoel boss isn't make any more problems for Shechter as he's doing now, he will surely move to FC Kaiserslautern from the Bundesliga.

    2. Barak Itzhaki - Maccabi Tel Aviv. Has been injured all season long.
Considred as one of the most talented Israeli football players today.
Moved to Maccabi Tel Aviv last year in the most expensive Israeli transfer ever made. Itzhaki has also played for a short time for Belgian side K.A.A Gent, but returned back to Israel after half a season.

    3. Toto Tamuz - Hapoel Tel Aviv. Top scorer in the Israeli League last year, scoring 21 goals. He is an Israeli that was born in Nigeria. Has played in all Israel national teams and has 10 appearances and 2 goals in the senior Israeli National team. Has been playing most of his creer in Beitar Jerusalem. For the moment he holds some offers from some diffrent clubs from europe and mentioned he would like to move this summer.

Ah yea I totally forgot about Itzhaki, he was injured the entire season so I get a pass:rolleyes:

I would def put him 2nd and have Atar 3rd making it

    1.Itay Shechter
    2.Barak Itzhaki
    3.Eliran Atar.

Anyways we really went off topic, sorry to those who wish to read about Damari lol :icon_mrgreen: we'll stop now.

Surprised we never tried to get Shechter! He looked brilliant in the games I watched.

Atar reminds me of Taarabt from QPR - going to get the unexpected and spectacular!

Damari seems to me like a Javier Hernandez type player, very pacey, good at 1 on 1's and makes intelligent runs and good on the ball. Doesnt strike me as as exceptional from what I have seen but he is young and could grow into a special player!

Is there anybody you's could compare him to in say the EPL/LA Lige/Serie A etc in terms of style. From the videos he reminds me a bit of Scott Sinclair of Swansea.

You did actually, accoridng to reports you offered 4 milion euros last year but Hapoel turned it down due to the Champions League.. too bad you missed out on his tho.. cracking player.

Taarabt is a pretty good comparasent to Atar imo, obviously not in position but as you mentioned.. always spectacular and unexpected!

Damari does have some of Hernandez qualities imo as he's very fast, has that knack for goals, great finisher etc - obviously not in that quality level tho. but he's a more complete type of player... he's confident with the ball at his feet, can run at players and is a willing passer\creator as well as a finisher.. pretty versetile although slowly he really set himself as a pure striker not playing wide etc unlike alot of modern wing\forwards.

As I keep mentioning, it's hard to really put a finger and say "thats the type of player he is", cause again in his team the offence was mainly on his shoulders as evidence he was 7th in both scoring and assists (15 goals + 6 assists in the league only).
So he did not get the chance other players did, playing with better quality players around him letting him focus on the things he really excells in.

So i'd say the jury is still out on stereotyping him as a player, cause in say Celtic or even Maccabi Haifa he would not have the same role he did in his former team, and thus will have to adjust himself and probably really change as a player focusing on the stuff he team requires him to do... and him being a pretty complete forward having so many qualities, it's something he's really capable of doing.

So again as I don't wanna misslead you guys, i'd say the jury on him is still out.

    Great feedback!

Seems like a great market to tap into - and I was one of the first ranting and raving for Kayal to be signed when we were linked - (Even spoke to Dudu Dahan about Kayal signed telling him to get him over here!!) :50:

Wish we had got Shechter as he seems the complete striker already but it is clear to see Damari has talent at a young age and would fit into Lennons Ethos of youthful talent on the up rather than players who have left their best years behind them!

I have to say I am devestated about Celtic rejected Lior Rafaelov as he looked like the player who would get fans off their seat and would have run riot in our league.

Defo a great league for talent.

    CELTIC GO FOR OMER DAMARI

Neil Lennon has made a £1.7million move for Israeli international Omer Damari

    Friday June 17,2011

    By Iain Macfarlane

CELTIC have made a £1.7million move for Israeli international Omer Damari.

The Maccabi Petah Tikva striker is rated at £2.5m by his club, but Celtic believe they can nail a bargain.

Damari is also being courted by domestic rivals Maccabi Haifa, ironically to replace Rangers target Tomer Hemed.

But Celtic know Haifa can only shell out around £900,000 for the man who netted 12 goals in 30 games last season for his club and that their offer will win the day.

The 22-year-old has been aware of Celtic’s interest for some time and has already spoken to Beram Kayal about a switch to Glasgow.

Last night Hoops midfielder Kayal confirmed that negotiations have started to double the Israeli contingent at Parkhead and that both the player and the Celtic hierarachy have sought out his opinion.

Kayal said: “Omer and I talked in January and also less than two months ago. He asked me about the offer and I gave him a strong recommendation. Celtic then asked me what I know about him. I told them that Omer is one of the top strikers in Israel and has everything needed to succeed.

“With his speed and understanding of the game, he can reach high levels.”

Celtic have made a verbal offer for the player and a written offer for £1.7m is expected soon.

Damari had been reluctant to leave Israel, having just broken into the national team where he scored twice on his debut in a 3-2 friendly win over Iceland

We need a target man. IMO stokes is just as good if not better than
This guy technically. We need something different to what we already have.
This transfer window is so important for us. It's make or break next year for
This team and they need the right players added not similar ones

Thanks for the link mate, sounds like Celtic is really ready to go for Damari.
I hope you don't mind I translated the article into Hebrew and published it in Maccabi Haifa fans forum. It's 05:35 AM in Israel right now so the media here hasn't published it yet, a fact which probably means that im the first who knows it here! :icon_mrgreen:
Anyway thanks again and enjoy Damari, he's a good striker after all.

If we sign this guy I think we will sell Samaras or Stokes and sign 1 more big name striker.

in bold is probs not true, why would his team turn that offer down then sell him for around half of that offer at the end of the season? he moved for 2.25m euros to germany?

    think that was paper talk

I see that both the Sun and Daily Record have stated that he scored 12 goals last season, when in fact he scored 15. Idiots.

Sound great to me. Far better than sniffing around overpriced championship players.
