The thread about what you'd have paid for a player like Larsson got me thinking of the first time I laid eyes on the player.

For me it was in the 94' World Cup when he scored that goal for Sweden in the 3rd and 4th place play-off (I think) when he rounded the keeper. I remember saying to my brother that he didn't look that great:52:

What's your first memory of the player folks?

    Excellent thread idea :')

I didn't really learn our history and really get into football in a serious away until I was 6 (in 1999), so my first real memory of Henrik is having a t-shirt with his face on the front and "Larsson 7" on the back. Really wish I still had it.

My Dad picking me up from Boys' Brigade, driving me home and telling me we had signed a Swedish player from Feyenoord called Henrik Larsson. My Dad also told me he had dreadlocks.

Can vaguely remember watching his debut v Hibs.

Dont even remember his debut tbh, i've seen footage. He looked * *. The best day of my life is when I met him in the flesh and he offered to take a picture with me and then he gave me a hug while in the picture. Unfortunately, i cant find that picture and I want to * tan my wrists :31::31::31:

World Cup '94. Couple of memories from that tournament that stick in the mind, including the goal that was mentioned in the OP (yes, it was the 3rd place play-off, BTW)

First time I've seen that goal of Henrik's. Typical Larsson goal, so composed.

Yes it was at the World Cup for Sweden, I remember his hair more than the goal. Then at Easter Road when Chic Charnley stole the ball from him and scored for Hibs, at that point I wondered why we had bought him, then for seven glorious years I watched in utter amazement as he brough Celtic to near European glory in Seville, truly a class act.
