Maybe one of the young Scottish players in the youth team if they get a real chance, a player like Keatings, Toshney, McGeogh or McGregor.

If someone stayed here long enough & was good enough,
to enter that exalted list they would be derided by a lot
    of people.

He never proved himself in another league.
He wasn't good enough to get a move.
    He wasn't ambitious enough.
He was going through the motions.
    He rested on his laurels.
He was only good for his first few seasons.

These are the sort of comments that would be spouted,
& not just by non Celtic supporters. I have seen it said about
    players like paul mcstay.

I hope someone does get into the top 10 club :50:
Then to keep Tommy in we will make it a top 15 club:50:

The player would be idolised by me:50:

If we were ever somehow able to pay the same kind of wages as the Premiership and also compete at the buisness end in the Champions league, players would have no reason to ever want to go anywhere else , they could achieve all their dreams with us.

Hopefully one day this will happen that players no matter how good will want to stay with us and play out their careers at Celtic Park

We must all dream that one day the glory days will return, if that were to happen then no one in their right mind would choose to leave Paradise.

Cant really see a player making 500 appearances unless he loves Celtic so much he would never leave.

Think the only people who would get into the top ten would be a young goalkeeper who can easily have a 15 year career playing most of the games.

I was thinking that, if they signed Keiren Westwood he may be someone who could get up there if he stuck around.

Maybe one day when the game is again about football and playing for the club you love.
But first this era of me me me and what in it for me has to end.

I have had the great pleasure of seeing 8 out of the top 10 playing for Celtic but truthfully cannot see anyone else breaking into that group in the near future - the state of Scottish football nowadays means that even half decent players will get paid a * lot more than we can afford and the really good players like Kayal will only stay a couple of years.

it could never happen again for the simple reason, the player involved, would have had 3 managers unless the team was successfully and we had won the league for straight ten years, also the player would be getting itchy feet and a big head and the offer of more money would win in the end there are not a lot of good players about as there once was so there would be interested party's circle yer camp fire

790 appearances is just phenomenal. I'd give anything to just have 1.

scotland caps they all got especially the lisbon lions.

Think offhand you would be surprised how little Scotland caps the Lions got because there were a lot of good players both in Scotland and England at that time. Tommy Burns got about a dozen and Bobby Evans was playing in a * Celtic team at the time when the Famous Five were on the go.
