Translated . . . Author of a disappointing season in the Bundesliga with a 12th place in the key, VfB Stuttgart in the household should make its workforce during the offseason. Thus, out of contract in June 2012, Khalid Boulahrouz, the defender of the German formation, is about to engage with Celtic. The Dutch international, or spent by Chelsea FC Sevilla in recent years in Scotland hopes to find playing time he lost on the other side of the Rhine.

Doubt very much this is true. BUT if it was and he did sign AND we managed to sign Given, then what a team we could be. That would put a smile on my face :)

i cant see this being true i reckon he will be on about 35-40k per week with stuttgart maybe more and hes a well known player so bigger teams willing to pay more money for him would surely lure him in

he used to be a right-back, but is now playing centre-back

  12. Is he any good? My mate who is a Chelsea fan seems to think he was rubbish for them other than one performance against Ronaldinho.

He's really good. Would be brilliant in the SPL.

Shevchenko wasn't any good for Chelsea and we'd all have taken him.

CELTIC are weighing up a £1.5million swoop for Stuttgart stopper Khalid Boulahrouz.

The 29-year-old Dutch international still has a year to run on his contract with the Bundesliga side, but they are ready to do business.

Sources in Germany say the player is aware of Celtic’s interest and he would be keen to hear what they have to offer.

Boulahrouz – who can operate in any position across the back-four – has already experienced British football with Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho spent £8.5m to lure Boulahrouz from Hamburg in 2006, but the Dutchman failed to establish himself at Stamford Bridge. After a season-long loan at Sevilla, Boulahrouz quit Chelsea in 2008 to pen a four-year contract with Stuttgart in a £4.5m transfer.

However, Stuttgart’s poor 12th-place finish in last season’s Bundesliga has prompted a clearout and Boulahrouz is one of the first victims. Celtic boss Neil Lennon has already moved to strengthen his defence this season with the capture of Kelvin Wilson and Adam Matthews.

But both are relative rookies and with Glenn Loovens poised to move on this summer only Daniel Majstorovic has any real experience as Lennon plots a twin assault on the SPL and Europe.

Boulahrouz has plenty of experience and has won 31 caps for Holland, making him a cut-price option to consider over the coming weeks.

    YES PLEASE !
