    Growing up I couldn't wait until Wednesday nights and Man U in the Champions League on ITV. My love of the theme tune stemmed from that.

    Used to love watching Cole/Yorke/Sheringham/Solksjaer, at their peak the best striking quartet in Europe. They had everything.

    Manu are a great club with great traditions and Ferguson is a brilliant manager only Jock Stein is better, he built them up from relegation threatened to Englands dominant force. No mean feat. I sometimes wish people would stop wanking off Barca and give United credit, both teams emphasise youth development which I think is brilliant. Both clubs are amazing and I respect both Barcelona and Manu.

    I don't support them but they have a lot of history even if you ignore the modern era and their success on the park, including showing determination in the face of adversity after Munich. I also read somewhere that the Irish that fled to Manchester after the famine ended up choosing Man Utd as their team in the city just as Arsenal,the Liverpool clubs and Villa got support from the Irish back then as well.
