Aye, its unlikely that the Australians have anything against lenny. If this happened anywhere else id be as * as the rest of you. Its unlikely that anyone with a grudge for Lenny would even touch a celtic crest let alone wear the strip.

Yea, i wasn't encouraging people to hope onto the pitch for 1 minute of glory, they should just sit down. But there was no harm. As i said, probably a stupid dare.

Sounded like a * poor game to be honest. Pre season is all about getting the fitness levels back up after a month off and I'm sure that would have been a good wee exercise for The Bhoys today.

These games don't really matter much in the long haul. As long as we get the business done in the league, that's all I'm interested in.

My brother & his g/f both were at the game. Neither are really football fans, but they went because they know how much I always talk about the Hoops. Asked if he enjoyed the banter & this was his reply on FB:

Banter? A nice friendly psychotic screaming match featuring some pretty bizarre songs were on offer Tim! Yes, you would have loved it! :)

We got you a programme and thought we would save the tickets, and also took some photos for you! The fans sang with quite frankly intimidating gusto, and whilst we appreciated the sentiment, the delivery was like trying to convince someone you like them by screaming that you like them, as part of a mass hysteria event
. Having said that it was still kinda fun. Thanks ;-) from both of us!!
I did say they were not exactly football fans, lol. Can only imagine their impression if they ever heard the Huns sing. :icon_mrgreen:

Glad I missed nothing, in a way. Hopefully we'll have more than audio for the next one.

Paddy mccourt and towell were the best of a poor bunch. All the people who ran onto the field had travelled over from Glasgow as they were all originally next to me but after drinking so much through the first half they got bored and ran on. That group now have $33k Australian in pitch invasion fines. Poor turn out only 20k fans. Celtic were poor, no one would finish it, we couldnt string passes together and tried to walk it in. Should have had a penalty right at the end, stoksey was fuming.

Meaningless, meaningless , meaningless. This is only an exercise in improving some fitness, a bit of team bonding and a marketing ploy.

No points for a friendly and no silverware for a game where there is only one side with any motivation to win it.

Good for our Aussie supporters to see their heroes in action, but seriously I wouldnt read anything at all into this.

Ratings, who played well, who didnt play are not an issue at the moment. Im sure Neil will have been glad to get a wee run out and look at a few players, but he will have had the players playing at a fairly slow to steady tempo. No injuries required.

I know its only the first game, but normally when we do badly in pre-season we have a good season.. and when we do well, we have a * season. Like when Mowbray tore spurs apart... then had one of the worst seasons ever!
