Dunno if this has been mentioned already but a mate told me earlier that Garry O'Connor has been training with us with the possibility of joining if he is up to scratch. Didn't believe it at first but it's being mentioned in the papers now.

Well having seen him play for Barnsley all i can say to that is NO thanks. Started really well and then reverted back to his * self just like he has everywhere he has been since leaving Hibs. If he's not good enough for Barnsley then he's definitely not good enough for us. :97:

I used to love him and wanted to sign him for years. Don't like saying it, but...not so sure anymore. I'd still like it to happen, but I can't honestly say I think it would work out particularly well if he does sign.

He's only training with us. I'd hope we could get better, but I have to say if Lenny decides to give him a deal, I would say Lenny has earned our trust

Fit , healthy and motivated, I think he would be a decent signing. We need a target man, and when he was playing well he was a handful for anyone in the league. Scored a bag of goals at Hibs.

Its a good move for Celtic, and smart, if he is training, they can assess his fitness levels and they hold all the cards. The fact he is a Tim may spur him on. Given the money we will be spending and the market we are looking to buy I dont think Neil will write it off at the moment.Given that we spent an undisclosed, but substantial sum for Murphy, I would see O'Connor as a better option, if fit.

As a club, we shouldnt be closing the door on anyone and I am glad that we are at least looking at him, instead of being a bit rash, as we were with Murphy and not getting the right player in.
