Well said Murdo! Ki has been absolutly fantastic for us this season! Sky Sports has his potential value at £20M. Well if any club wanted him they would have to pay us a hefty fee because the guy is going to be a * star! Also nice to see Stokesy get a mention! Hes on top form right now and lets hope it continues on Thursday night! mon the * hoops!!

as * as it sounds, ledley and ki might be doing ok in the center, but i still think kayal should be brought back in when his injurys healed up. im never usually a fan of doing this with players if they get a chance and shine, but i would feel that little bit safer with kayal, and i think the player to partner him would be ki at the minute!

hopefully we can keep him for a good couple seasons and build the team round him. beginning to see a little bit more of the gerrard play come out in him :)

I've always said that Ki should push farther up and I think that's the difference between this season and the last. Last season, I felt he was given more defensive duties and held further back rather than pushed forward. This season, you see that he's going forward every opportunity he can get. I am not saying he is an attacking midfielder, but compare those heat charts or whatever they are (you know the ones where you see where the player spends the most time) from last season. You'll see he's spending a greater concentration pushed up rather than held back. In the 4-4-2, you typically have one midfielder push up as more of a playmaker and the other one plays more defensively. I feel like Ki is being the playmaker and Kayal (before injury) played a little more defensively. Of course, it's fluid and can go back and forth and switch, but I'm speaking in general terms. Another difference I see is that instead of the classic 10 that he tried to play where he didn't dribble much and looked to play deft touches and passes to make for it, he's hustling and bustling and dribbling much more. Also feel like Lennon gave him more of a free license to try crackers from outside the box, resulting in a few more goals

Not to beat a dead horse and all that, on the whole Ledley vs Ki argument. Ledley was tremendous last season and deserved to start. Ki played well until the Asian Cup and had a bit of a slump before recovering. Ledley is consistent and has a high pass success ratio. He's scores goals and he's able to defend, really all around. The thing is though I don't see Ledley controlling a game like Ki. When Ki is on form, he is playing long balls all over the pitch. He's distributing the ball all around the players, and he's controlling the flow of the game. He's got a great shot from range as well. Also I feel Ki plays a much more direct form of passing and gets the ball forward compared to Ledley who prefers to play the safe pass and keep possession. Possession is great, but there's been plenty of games where the team with high possession lost because they didn't the ball forward enough or weren't clinical enough in the finish. I also see Ki pull off a wider range of passes including a lot of long balls that I don't see Ledley pulling off and certainly not with the same accuracy. If I put an on-form Ki vs an on-form Ledley. I'd pick Ki just because he has that sorta X-factor to him, but i feel he can be more liable in terms of form. Of course, only if he has someone that he can ease the defensive duties off of (Ki tries and gets stuck in, but I still feel that his defending is shaky, especially relative to Ledley). However, Ledley is more of a consistent and solid player you can always count on. If I was ever unsure of Ki's form or I knew that we would need a more solid defense to a stronger offense for a game, then I'd pick Ledley. Just my two cents.

I love the fact that there's so much competition in our midfield at the moment. The players know that they have to give their absolute best if they want to retain a place in the team, and that can only be a good thing. Then you look across the river, and they can barely find anyone to replace the suspended Mo Edu :50:

Well said. It wasn't all that long ago when we were stuck deciding whether an aging Robson or Hartley (not knocking them as servants) was the choice for centre mid.

Ki could potentially play even better in Europe than he does in the SPL.

Almost every opponent we play will sit deep against us, meaning we are forced to play much simpler, shorter passes. Against European opponents, I would imagine the game will be a more lot end to end, meaning there will be room for Ki to execute the type of 'quarterback' style passes that you often see him pull off for South Korea.

Interesting to see how he does on Thursday night.

Im getting his name on the back of my away top :52::icon_mrgreen:

At the game against Dundee Utd two (I assume) Korean girls, they looked about 20 were sitting a couple of rows infront of me, had the cameras etc out, two of them were wearing the new away top with Ki 18 on the back and they went absolutley nuts when he scored :56:they were jumping about for about 20 seconds after everybody had calmed dow, especially as Ki came over to the corner to celebrate doing the kick on the corner flag. The two lassies must have thought theyd won the lottery lol

That puts the myth that Ki doesn't cover enough ground to bed, Neil Lennon stating he's got a fantastic engine on him is no surprise. I can't wait to see Ki in Europe.

My only fear is the big dogs will be sniffing around soon, if they aren't already.

He's going to be a tough one to hold onto.

The South Korean boys are certainly doing something right when you look at Ki for us and Park for United, the way JSP works for United is unbelievable at times he is non stop and i can see more and more of that coming from Ki of late i would imagine aswell being from Asia they're well known for having the best diets and life expectancy in the world so i think Ki fitness wise will look after himself as well and train hard, he certainly doesn't get pushed around in the spl even though i thought he would be not slating or taking nothing away from Naka but if someone clattered him he disappeared and i belive that by going into the Asian market yet again have struck gold.

Also working on his long range shots have done wonders with him and Commons we are a constant danger, i admit i wasn't a big fan of the lad at the start of last season but now i really think we have a gem really look forward to seeing him and i think he will be a cert for young player of the year this season :50:

I don't think tough guy Ki will be going anywhere this window. He must be worth anywhere between £8-£10M now.
