What does that mean? My OP was regarding the disgusting bile spewed by fans against decent men who were terrific servents to our club. Not exactly the actions of the worlds best fans?

No doubt our club captain will receive the same treatment in nthe future. It has * all to do with whether anyone goes to the football or not. The evidence is in this forum. I dont go to many games now, however i never missed a game for years when I was younger.

With the obvious exception of Judas I never heard any of the disgusting abuse against ex Celtic players irrespective of their backgrounds. If they wore the hoops they got our respect. That is the way it was.

Anyone who calls Davie Provan or Murdo Macleod dirty hun * are nothing but bigots in my opinion. Both men are doing their jobs and have said nothing that hasn't been said on here numerous times.

    Stupid post.

    So, what's your point?

Start listening to them commenting on Celtic games or hear them speak about Celtic & then you may start another thread, contradicting this thread !!!!

Listen mate, I love Celtic & like any relationship you do have a fall-out sometimes. So, what are you supposed to do, keep your comments to yourself or speak in private with like minded people or to the person concerned about it.
You don't go public & start a slagging match & spew vitriol over the relationship or the person concerned, the person I'm talking about here is Celtic !!!!
If your relationship was for real from the start, you wouldn't slag the person off in public, for actually you did love that person once !!!!
    So, here's where I begin to doubt Provan's & Murdo's true love & loyalty !!!!!

One simple question mate, if you had a fall-out with Celtic one day, would you slag Celtic off in public & wash your dirty linen in the open for all to see?
If I think what your honest answer is going to be, then I'm sure you will be starting a fck Provan & Murdo thread shortly !!!!
Cause, you, me & all of us in this forum 'Love Celtic more than we love Ourselves', unlike Mr. Provan & Mr. McLoad.

not a stupid post at all because if you go home and away you will see the way our fans conduct themselves to give us that title, not just the ones who sit and agree with commentators and then try to make statements afterwards claiming they came up with it all by myself.

the best fans in the world are the ones who GO to the games and represent the club with dignity, not just throw an opinion onto a computer screen.

after all supporting your club is by investing first and foremost. if we all stayed at home (this is not just directed at you BTW this is just my opinion , many have good reasons not to go im sure) then the club would be skint.

for the record, i have never called any celtic player or fan a hun, and never will, but i dont condone attacks on our current team and management from a former player no matter how good or bad, its not on and not the celtic way, we are a family who should stick together not try to hang people out because its the general consensus of the press.:bbpd:

I can see the way Celtic fans conduct themelves home and away by watchin the telly?!!

My question was if the Celtic fans are the best in the world they should desist from calling ex players who have done nothing wrong ( not one link or quote on this or any other thread ) dirty hun *, *, fannyfaces, *, * and other disgusting insults normally reseved for the huns. I think that is a reasonable question.

I am not going to even dignify your statement about the fans who go to the games being the best because it is so * wrong. Where does the money I spend on Celtic go? You daft enough to think ticket money pays for everything?

I used to think that as well when I went every week. Half the glory hunters at CP nowadays are better fans than me?? Aye * right. I wouldnt go back now, to many moaning *, * atmosphere, and I would prefer to spend my money on the kids. Do I care less about the club? No.

How come Murdo and Davie Provan are not in the family anymore? As I said, we will be discussing a few of the currnet team in the future, calling Scot Brown a dirty * hun.....I am sure he will be expecting it if he ever comes on here.

It's very sad to hear so many Celtic greats being critisised by our own supporters these days, of course everyone is fully entitled to their own opinion, we call it free speech.

Perhaps some of these lads are young and therefore don't fully appreciate the efforts these guys put in to win trophies for our club in years gone by, however is today's society in general that simply doesn't respect anything. Mc Leod and Provan were part of the team that ensured Celtic centenary year was recognised as special, we lifted the league and Scottish Cup, it would take a few years before we lifted our next trophy.

The current attacks on Neil Lennon are disgusting, hopefully Strathclydes Police will bring the scumbags to court, but I Neil's current position I think he needs to step back a little and let the team do his bidding. I do worry for his safety and indeed the safety of his family too, I simply think Murdo Mc Leod was telling him too to keep a lower profile, it's not always the best policy to go storming into more problems.

who said they werent in the family?

you dont turn your back on your own-unless your a sell out which is what he and provan and burley are!

your not responding to my comments on the fans who go to games because you are no longer one . dont be so naive to suggest that ticket money is not vital to the club, use your loaf if we had zero attendance for a whole season we would be *!

as for the comment also in bold, only a vast vast few of the millions of celtic fans/ (and supporters£) glory hunters whatever you want to call the thousands in attendance every week have called these sell outs a hun so if you want to use that against on of the biggest and by far the best supporters in the world then you do that because this site is not even 0..1% of the support we have and you tag us the way a real hun would.

i would rather a prawn sanny lover at the game than someone who just slags fellow fans on a computer every day of the week.

remember celtic is a real team still not just a computer topic

agree with a few things of your post but your claiming murdo is just thinking of lenny and is concerned for him and maybe he needs a wee pep talk.

well if he was he would phone up lenny and offer support and advice wouldnt he? he sure as * would not announce in the national press that lenny was out of order.

murdo is using what he used to be (a former celtic player) to sell his story and his view because it makes people notice , ''look, that former celtic player is slagging the manager i must read this as it cant be biased because its against celtic.''

can you blame people for not liking how former players are sticking it to the current team? these were players who were idolised and seen as good celts until the sell out to the press to slag their former employees.

    no loyalty!

    im all about loyalty!

Well said, toleration of a point of view different to your own is something which sits exactly with what our club is about. Those who spew bile at former players for expressing an opinion would be better suited to other forums.

Dont dare lecture me on what Celtic is, be interesting to know when you started going to the games? One thing that really is annoying is fans who think they are the only ones who can claim to be supporters as they go to CP. By that logic we only have 40,000 supporters then? its not a very good arguement and it is quite offensive to the millions who are Celtic supporters.

I apologise for calling you an idiot, if you are infering that supporters who dont attend the games anymore or for whatever reason, it is really offensive though. I was angry. Some Celtic fans I know cannot afford to put food on there kids tables or buy them a decent Christmas present, never mind give multi million pound players £30 a week. Anyway I do apologise for the insult.

I know we are not all going to agree on things, and I admit some things I'll come out with might be a load of pish, but we need to remember to keep certain standards as Celtic fans, irrespective of how we contribute to the club. After all, we are not huns!!:50:

    * shocking the people on here that think they are better than others because they are lucky enough to go and watch celtic each week. I dont live in scotland just now so i have to scream and shout at the tv or radio when celtic are playing but that does not mean i care anyless about my club than you do and it does not mean i am not a REAL fan.
There are also fans living in glasgow who have to put food on the table for thier wife and kids rather than go to the game.....They are also REAL fans.
Just for the record....if larsson said he thought lennon was wrong to do what he did at the rangers game would he in your opinion then be a hun *.....?????

That statement about greatest fans are the one's who go to the games is absolutly an embarassment!! How the * can you be less of a fan if you do t go to the game? From my own point of view, if i had to choose between spending 30-50 quid on a saturday afternoon watchin celtic or spending that money & time with my wee girls, my wee girls will win everytime, but dont you for one second think that makes me less of a fan, celtic will ALWAYS be there, my girls wont always have time to goto the park or spend time with me!
Being the greatest fans in the worldis following celtic throughthe good and the bad, helping out if any of our celtic family are in a rut, if you think that going to the games makes you a great fan, think again mate

Eh? Does that mean we should all put Celtic before feeding and clothing ourselves or our kids or both? I love Celtic more than the wife, but then again, I like the huns more than her!
