    Xavi dont even need a poll for it, hes the best midfielder in the world by far. Hes on par as the other 2 for me. He may not score goals upon goals but his passing, vission, ball retention and dictating the game means he runs the game for Messi and co to go and do his stuff. sublime wee player who i never tire of watching.

    I can't see how Ronaldo is the conversation. He has great ball skills, but I think there many players who are all around better players than he is. Plus, he's flopping cheat.

    :56: Please say thats a wind up. wether you hate him or love him his all round game is probably the best in the world. Can hit effectivley with both feet, great in the air, quick, powerful and scores plenty of goals. Name a better all round player?

    I'd vote for Pique if he was here. He's a brilliant CB, and if I were a Man Utd fan I'd be gutted - him and Vidic would be the perfect CB combo.

    Was not a mistake at the the time Pique was a very good young defender but he could not spilt Rio and Vidic he went on loan to spain and caught Barca's eye they bid for him and he went to Fergie and asked him to sell him as he wanted to go home .

    I think Kompany does deserve to be there. Just because he's not a big name people think he's out of place among that lot. Well I can't think of any better centre-back this season and if Puyol or Vidic had played as he's done no one would have bat an eyelid. In fact they'd be giving them the recognition that Kompany deserves.

    I think it's poor from the OP to assume Ronaldo is in the top two, considering he didn't even make the final three of the last Balon d'Or.
