Listening to him on Goals on Sunday - What was it that everyone didn't like about him?, always seeing negative comments about him!.

I thought he was a good manager for us. Got us into knock out of Champions League. 6 domestic trophies in 4 years. 3 Leagues in a row i thought he done well, was disapointing to see him go.
Hes bigging up Celtic on the TV saying its best job in world football and that!

For what is it worth - I still like Strachan. Can't see that changing anytime soon.

strachan gave us some great nights and winning 3 in a row was some acheivement, but, when you look at how lenny-a rookie- has spent his limited budget far more efficiently and been the first ever celtic manager to get the better of walter smith,it does make you think.smith was the first decent manager strachan faced and he couldnt handle him-also signed some of the biggest dumplings to ever disgrace the hoops.adam virgo ffs!but he was a great coach and
got the best out of maloney and mcgeady-dont dislike the guy just thought he could have done better with the largeish budget he had-and he never sorted out the centre half problem

I thought he was great but should have gone after 3iar. As most of us may remember the football that season was awful, as it was for most of 06/07, and we only won the league because of a huns collapse.

The first manager after MON was never going to win everyone over.
He wasn't a Celtic supporter or player.
He was rude to reporters.(I thought it was hillarious).

I'd say that they're the main reasons. My only beef is the football we were playing could often be testicles compared to previously, but I liked Strachan and he brought success with him.

A lot didn't enjoy his style of football either, but it won matches which I guess is all that matters. Love the guy tbh, gave us some great memories!

He signed a fair few duds and never had us playing exciting enough to watch. We won a lot and were successful but just not a good enough team.

If he'd signed more good players and had us playing with better passing and flowing stuff then he'd still be the manager. I think his team never came out of second gear and McGeady, Nakamura and Maloney were the only exciting players he had. Compared to now most of the team is exciting players.

exciting football for me is us beating milan and man u at home.

i liekd gordy, he was a realist and built a solid team with a never say die attitude that allowed them to punch impressively above their weight class. His personality can be slightly abrasive but I find that more funny than anything else

Even if you didn't like his football style, you have to love the results.

I still love the wee man. He always loved Celtic and instilled the heart in his players to fight for the hoops.

    He was a success here.

Frustrating, abrasive verging on total * at times but a success all the same. I like the fact he refused to be a sycophant just to appease the element of the support that needs to feel loved. He delivered titles, give me that over nicey nice comments any day.

    Top boss for us.

Made some poor signings, which let him down. But a real success at Celtic.

They have a saying in American sports that you never want to be the guy who follows the legend, you want to be the guy who follows the guy who follows the legend. I mean, you can look through pretty much the history of any sport and see that the coach who follows the legend often gets run out of town, even if he does a decent job or even wins a championship.

However, that didn't really work out for Tony Mowbray, did it? Maybe you should be the guy who follows the guy who follows the guy who follows the legend.

i agree with this,he was a confident we chap that didnt need to appeal to the masses ,stood by his own judgement good or bad, took a lot of stick from the fans ,when he left had nothing but good to say about our club .
