a bit early with the poll imo! we've haven't won anything so the answer has to be no!

if your talking about players individually speaking then there's deffinately more experience in strachans side and attacking wise they look stronger but defensively slightly weaker

Hard one really Boruc would deffo be in the squad and as much as i grew to hate his attitude McGeady aswell and would take Caldwell back in a second i mean that waters not gonna pour itself.

until we start putting trophies in the cabinet then its strachans team. we play better football now but strachans team won stuff, winning the double this year would a good start but the real place you judge a team is in europe.

Man-by-man, no we're not. In terms of trophies, no we're not.

But it's got decent potential. Kayal, Izzy, Hooper etc could all be top players for us in the future.

Time will tell, we have a very young squad now, I think our current squad has the potential to be better yes.

I think Kayal, Hooper and Izzy would be champions league quality, I think Hooper will score goals at any level, I believe Kayal could easily hold his own in europe and Izzy is good enough imo to play for a top team in world football.

The problem with europe is because of the rankings, Scottish teams from next season have a ridiculous amount of work to do to even get in the group stages of the champions league so it's going to be hard to see how they would do against the best teams in the world.

If you look at our team that lost 3-2 to Man United in 06, they have a fair bit of CL experience with them, McGeady, Lennon, Caldwell, Naka, Boruc etc.

It's only really Sammy, Brown and Wilson that have any real experience from our current squad of playing in the CL.

Strachan won trophies but played some * awful football at times.

Are we a better footballing team? Absolutely

Are we as successful? Which is what this seems to be based on.. you can't say yet.

Who has the tougher challenge? For me it's Lennon. Strachan done well, very well, but he also done this at a time when the huns were in complete turmoil in terms of management change and player revolt. The first time he had a real test (when Walter went back to the huns) he lost the league.

    Potentially, yes.

Right now, no. We've won sweet * all right now. I'll make my judgements after another season or two.

To be fair to Strachan Walter lost the league to him in his first full year back. Remember the two vital wins? JVH's last minute goal and the 3 - 2 win like a week later? as much as I hated his man management and * football, he got us to the last 16 in CL two years running, tbh I prefered those two years of CL than I did of any of MON's campaigns(exception being Seville :icon_mrgreen:)

this is strachans strength taking average players and you've got to say by and large strachans players were pretty much ordinary and making them better surely that means his man management was very good

because there's no doubt about it martin oneil's teams had much superior players

i wonder what strachan could have done with oneils team they would have passed the ball quicker no doubt which would have helped tremendously as that was the reason strachan's teams bored me

This team is more entertaining to watch but not as resilient, it has the potential to be better, but, as yet, has achieved nothing. At the end of the day it's trophies, especially the league, that count.

The only way to compare the two of them will be on what both of them will have achieved over the same period of time. If we win the league, it would be unfair to compare overall as we will not know how Lennon will have built on a successful team yet, or even if he would be able to win 2/3 titles in a row.

WGS brought in some excellent players and inherited a few good younger players like Maloney and McGeady , but he also brought in some duds. Lennon is building a new team and although WGS was cutting the wage bill. he still had experienced guys like Stan, Hartson and Lennon himself to help him when he arrived.

Unfortunately we lost the guys who had won the league before last season.

    not yet

that team had 2-3 stars in Naka, Aiden, Boruc and some really good other players in the likes of Skippy and JVOH etc...

not to say this team couldn't become better. I think if kept together they undoubtedly will
