I first thought of Strachan and O'Neill for the obvious reasons, they were both absolutely fantastic for us. Both brought a good deal of success to the club and some of the happiest moments of my life as a Celtic fan.

But my vote goes to Wim Jansen. The pressure he and the team would have been under that season would have been enough to make most men collapse. To bring the title back to Paradise after 9 straight years at Ibrox deserves immense credit. Was also the first time I had seen Celtic win the league. :50:

Jansen stopped 10 and that is the single most important thing since the takeover in 94, if they had got ten we would have been finished, totally demoralised.

Jansen brought us Henrik and Henrik made MON's team tick which laid the foundations for WGS. It is not just about trophies and success it is about the importance and significance of what the manager did for us. Wim "second worst thing to hit Hiroshima - tabloid scum" Jansen did that for us and saved us from an eternity of those unwashed bigots ranting about it.

    It has to be Jansen

ps he also gave us the best bit of rhyming slang as well "whit you doin tonight? you goin up the Wim Jansen?"

I went for Strachan due to what he won even with the financial restraints he operated under and because he didn't inherit two arguably world class players. To be honest though im still not sure of that decision ... MON has the highest win rate of any Celtic manager and won a lot in his time here, plus no-one can ever forget Seville. Thought about going for Jansen too because of stopping the ten in difficult circumstances.

strachan for me! he won us 3 in a row 1st time that happend since stein!

got us to the last 16 of the champions league twice in a row! won us the other domestic cups also

and thats after he had to cut the wage structure and re-build a team.

ok fair enough the football wasnt great but at least we were succesful under him.

O'Neill had a lot of money to spend and he did inherit Larsson but then Strachan made some dreadful signings along with great ones. Not quite sure who to pick tp be honest..........has to be O'Neill, he brought the thunder there in the first place and mauled a very good * Advocaat team.

I sincerely hope you're right, but it'll take a lot for Lennon to match the achievements of someone like Martin O'Neill.

    O'Neill by a million miles.

O'Neill never spent much either, he spent big on a few players and paid big wages but kept a small squad. Compared to Strachan who actually spent more in less time but paid less wages and bought and sold as half his signings never worked out.

O'Neills worst SPL season also got us more points than Strachans best and O'Neill's team were up against a better Rangers.

O'Neill, although I'd be tempted to say Venglos for the simple reason that he gave us Lubo haha!

Martin O'Neill. He turned a fairly bad club into one of our best teams ever.

    WGS for me !!!!!!!!!!!!:50:

    1. A trophy every season he managed us
    2. Last 16 of Champions League, Twice
    3. All this, within a budget & very average players (No Henke, Sutty, Lambert etc)
Aye, he was a 'Cocky' wee so & so. But he was good at his job, i.e winning trophies & best of all, did a fantastic job of winding up the a**sehole Scottish Media scum !!!!!!!!:50:

O'Neill and Strachan are the two frontrunners no doubt. Martin for me though. It's because of him I got to see Celtic in a European final in my lifetime (not being born in '67 or '70).

Taking nothing away from Strachan though. He done a fantastic job for us.

    O'Neill by a country mile.

Wim the Tim would be my second choice.

Definitely between O'Neill and Strachan. I went with O'Neill, because we just played better football and had better players, and of course because of Seville. A mention must also go to Jansen, for stopping the 10, and Burns, for ending the trophy drought.

It is Martin O'Neill no question for me. Not even close. I don't think you can consider Neil Lennon in the list either given how short he has been in the job to date.

I picked Martin as he flipped scottish football on its head after the Hun's domination and had us bossing the league for years. Gotta give kudos to Wim, Tommy and WGS. Tommy for the stylish football, Wim for Larsson and stopping the 10 and WGS for following Martin and doing very well with lesser resources. I think Lennon has the qualities to become something special. A thank you to Dr. Jo as well for signing Lubo :50:
