He's going to improve and possibly be in contention for the England number 1 jersey some day.. Not surprised Newcastle want to keep him..

The big man has done us a good service so far if he keeps it up celtic should table a contract. and i know everyone keeps going on about the defence and the midfield being good which they are!!!! but they cant defend EVERY attack and the big man steps up!

posted this in another thread, but i have edited it

Forster is a young goalkeeper years away from his peak ( if other
goalies are anything to go by)
He was thrown in right at the deep end here.

We didn't buy /loan the finished article & i reckon that year on
year we will see improvement,if we buy him.

If he is in some peoples eyes the weak link then at least he isn't
    done improving.

Try a bit harder to see the positives please:54:

    Agreed.

Boruc at his best was world class but the last season, in particular, he didn't give a * and was actually a poor goalkeeper. Foster of this season over that Artur all day long.

Christ sake, he's done fine thus far. Great. He's rated higher than Zal.....quelle * surprise. He's not here next season. . . we knew that months ago. Where's the * dramas?

Celtic already have in place "their guy" for next season, purchase wise.......where's the problem amigos? It may well be another loan deal, but personally i doubt it. Either way, worry not. This whole notion that Forster goes and we are scuppered was thought of pre December; a'hin is fine.

Think about the morra, and getting one up that * Houston with 3 points in the bag. A'hin else at the mo is worth * all.

    We just can't get enough.

    Hail Hail.

Think he is a realistic target. They can't keep him happy as 3rd choice. That will be Pardew trying to 'up the ante' with regards to giving his name more media exposure- as if he's sought after with ability but hard to get. he's a realistic target

Nah. Artur at 70% is still better than Forster. Forster is ok though.

Forster has been far more consistent than Boruc. Is far younger too. Boruc pulled us out of it in the huge games. I duno if Forster could do the same. But he's been better in the SPL this season than Artur in his last 2 at Celtic. In saying that, you have to consider the rest of the team unit in that too- and how they defend/play.

I think people are over-egging Artur's form last season. To listen to some people you'd think Artur had a shocker last season, he didn't. It's only because he didn't reach the same world class standards that he had set previously that people fall into the trap of thinking he was poor. In my opinion anyway. Boruc had 1 poor season at Celtic, Gordon Strachan's last season in charge. Even I admit he was bogging that season.

I don't want it to come across that I don't like Fraser Forster because I think he's fine but Artur Boruc at 70-80% would still be better. That's how I see it anyway.

Think age deserves to be considered as an influencing factor, myself

Aye well Forster has conceded about half as many goals as Artur had this time last year - that'll do for me. :50:

That's because the team as a whole is playing much better than it did last season. :50:

Could argue, a team is only as good as its weakest member.

    but whatever.....

Fair point but Artur Boruc was never our weakest member so I'm not sure how that's relevant to the Forster v Boruc debate :43:
