agree, were a better team now because we have much better players than we had when aiden was here, if aiden was in the current sqaud he would thrive imo and wouldn't have to carry the team like he had to do in the past.

There is maybe an argument we shape up better but a fully focussed McGeady would be one of the jewels in the crown of this side.

I've said it before though,I reckon Forrest can have a bigger impact than Aiden given time and a lengthy run without injuries.

Yes I agree with a lot that has been said. Aiden would still walk into this team IMO and he would add a lot to them. However we have not missed him nearly as much as I thought we would.

exactly. if he didnt go, we couldnt have afforded the team we have now. BUT, he would thrive in this team. ironic. as for your question, he was definetly a ball gready bassa, but, only cos he didnt trust the players around him. Would you? Best of luck to him, he'll return to Celtic one day, but even at the minute he wouldnt get into the team imo cos he doesnt work for the team as much as others. I think Forrest was a better player than Mcgeady at his age

He would be immense for us just now. I think received undue stick for the sub-par performance of the team. He was great in Russia this year. Maybe one day he'll come back to us... but I doubt we could ever afford that.

McGeady was and is a smashing footballer - and I'm confident he would be a better player in the present team than he was previously, since he wouldn't have the pressure of feeling he had to carry the team.

In the same way that he is generally a better player for Spartak than he was here.

But it's academic - he couldn't play in the present team, because in large part it was the cash from selling him that financed the present team.

If it wasn't for Aiden, the present team would not be what it is. His leaving was the right decision for him, & for his growth as a person, and it was the right decision for us. :50:

I think he would improve the team no end but we do better now than when he was here easily. He was always marked out of games and after Naka left we never seemed to have an alternative so would give the ball to him anyway. Was a shame really and it halted his development slightly, trying to constantly beat 3 men at a time while the rest of the team waited. He is the most talented Irish player at the moment and I hope he will come back before he is old and past it but we all know it was his dad along with TB who stopped him moving sooner.

If im honest I always hoped he would be our one-club man like Giggs.

I don't think McGeady has much to do with it. More the players here now. Certainly has been times this season where we could have used someone on the wing instead of Ledley

not enough end product from mcgeady imo you never got more than 5 goals a season from him either-paddy and maloney are on 6 and 5 just now and commons is bound to bang in a few more

You cant just base it on goals, he was a winger. The last season Strachan won the league he had 24 assists. Not exactly no end product. Aiden carried us for most of the time he was with us. Correct time for us to sell him though, i agree with that

theres less of this "oh ive got the ball..... * what do i do...... AIDEN!AIDEN! heres the ball go and run"

we were getting quite predictable with him in the team because he was by a mile our best player at that point, everyone would just give him the ball he would run to the byline, 9/10 hit a * cross and then we would start it all over again

id rather we had commons, forrest, mccourt etc
