Imagine he had Izzy playing next to him instead of Naylor? With class players like Kayal and Ki next to him?

    That would be amazing.

There is no doubt that if you added McGeady to this current Celtic team he would make it better. :celt_2:

He has gone and we now have Commons, Maloney, Forrest, Paddy etc all of whom are as good or better than Aidan but who even combined cost only about a quarter of the Aidan money. We dont miss him one bit and we didnt need to spend hardly any of the money to replace him. That is good business.

Bit like when Di Canio went. We stopped giving the ball to one guy to create chances and worked more as a team

I don't miss him actually, I think selling him for the money we did was one of the best things we ever did. I'm not doubting his ability though cause on his day he was a top class player but he could often be quite inconsistent.

I think we are managing without him. However were he to come back I am sure he could still hold his place in our team. We would be less dependant on him and he should thrive on this.

haven't really missed him, but would definitely make us stronger. excellent player who was to heavily relied on in recent years, think he would be even better in this current team though, where he would get more support

Completely agree, he would only enhance the current team as would Artur. The problem when we had McGeady was that he was largely playing with * and we were so one dimensional as the rest of the team would look on and expect him to beat 3 or 4 men every time, with hardly anything positive coming from elsewhere imo. hes far, far better than McGinn, Maloney and Paddy.

We have a better balance now, i always thought we were a bit predictable at times with Aiden in the team.

totaly agree, rather than building our team around one special player we are building a whole team of them.

i would welcome him back but he would have to stop the greetin.

Aye probably but the past 2 seasons our teams were abusing McGeady, he was getting passed too all the time and expected to do something special etc instantly. Alot of pressure on him, we seen his best football the season before strachans last seasonand the one before that when players didn't rely on him all the time . He was immense then.

I miss him tbh, pure true celtic lad, met him in the town a few weeks ago just after christmas in bamboo and he said he misses Celtic but he's enjoying his time with Spartak.

McGeady would be amazing in our new team would have more freedom and two quality goal poachers to aim for. Would love to see McGeady pull on the hoops in the future:celt_2:

We are definitely a better team now without McGeady. That doesn't mean I think Aiden was a bad player because I don't. I just think we were too one dimensional with Aiden in the team. I'll let you decide which of the two following scenarios was the reason for that.........

    1. Aiden was too greedy and tried to do everything himself
    2. The other players just passed the ball to Aiden and expected him to create everything

Either way we were one dimensional with Aiden McGeady in the team, especially over the last 2 seasons.

Our current team is creating goals from different positions and the midfield are now beginning to chip in with more goals than they have done for quite some time. I think we are a more well rounded team now than we've been for at least 2 years and it's good to see.

It was time for Aiden McGeady to leave Celtic and we got more money for him than he was actually worth in my opinion. A parting of the ways was best for Aiden and for Celtic.

McGeady is a top player no doubt. We are playing well, but if he was still here, we would be stronger. I wish him loads of success.

McGeady would start in our current team, it's not down to him not being here that makes us better.
