In all seriousness what has Jay-Z dropped that makes you think he's getting back to the level of Reasonable Doubt or the first Blueprint, or even The Black Album? BP3 was terrible.

Dr Dre's new tune is awful, I've never really been a fan of Snoop anyway so can't comment, Eminem's latest is certainly an improvement but is nowhere near his first two major releases.

Kanye doesn't come into this category as far as I'm concerned, firstly I wouldn't class him as an older artist, but he never really fell off, for what it was, I thought 808's And Heartbreaks was a brilliant album, it was just so different to what people expected. MBDTF is brilliant though.

I loved BP3, he introduced us to the future of hip-hop: Drake & J.Cole. Also the features he's done recently have been hot, his verse on H.A.M. is lyrically brilliant.

Don't like Kush? I think it's more a club beat more than anything to be honest. I don't think will ever get back to Slim Shady/Marshall Mathers/Eminem Show days but yea he's certainly putting out better tracks at the moment unlike a couple of years back.

I don't know many people that liked 808's from Kanye and i wasn't a great fan, he killed it on MBDTF though.

How did Jay-Z introduce Drake? That just isn't right on any level. He's signed to Young Money which isn't Jay, he didn't first appear on a Jay track, so what do you mean by this?

    J. Cole is ten times the rapper that Drake is, but Drake will be far bigger because of his more commercial sound and smooth flow that the ladies like.

In all honesty though, to compare either of these two to someone like Nas at this stage of their career is somewhere inbetween disrespectful and plain stupid.

"Drake's up next, see what he do with it..", from 'A Star is Born'.

I didn't even mention Nas? So calling that 'stupid' is pretty ironic. :50:

Drake was already in the mainstream at that point, Jay-Z didn't introduce him on any level, that is just a shout out.

You didn't mention Nas, I was talking about the thread as a whole, the whole 'bringing Hip Hop back' thing. Wasn't intended as an insult to you.

I'm no way a fan of rick ross, because as you said hes fake.
Officer ricky just had a good year, not saying that i liked any of his stuff apart from Maybach Music II from 2yearsago? and Aston Martin Music.
