    I would love him here mate, don't get me wrong but I severely doubt that we are going to spend that kind of money on a player with no sell on value

    No excuses for that I'm afraid.

    If they were identified weeks ago and still haven't been done then what the * have we been doing ? If they have been demanding too much money or whatever then move on. Don't waste weeks on the same guy.

    If true it shows that the line Brendan is continually pedalling about the board trying their best is a bit off. As you'd expect.

    Really don't understand that one, particularly if Gunter only has a £1M release clause.

    I really don't rate Paterson that highly and certainly wouldn't pay that much for him. He'd be a certainty for constant yellows and the odd red playing for us IMO.

    I wouldn't even want us paying anything for him never mind £1.5m and two players.

    IF he signs then it shows Rodgers doesn't have full control over transfers, surely? As McGuire said earlier with all his connections etc why would he then look at a guy like Paterson when he freely admitted he hasn't a scooby about Scottish football.

    I wouldn't be surprised if he would like to get rid of GMS and Allan in any case, using them on transfers would be killing two birds with one stone.

    Wouldn't be for Paterson though, especially with £1.5m added into that as well. That's mental.

    The bottom part, would you rather we didn't have scouts to fall back on and just rely on a managers knowledge of who they want?

    Just not relying on scouting Scotland to improve a squad which is already bloated with distinctly average players. It would be another sign of lazy scouting.

    Paterson would not improve us whatsoever. I'm pretty sure all these rumours are bollocks, though, in any case.

    At this stage as well with Rodgers just in the door it is perhaps better if he gets guys in that HE wants and knows about too. Although I'd chuck that philosophy out the window if offered guys like Kaputska and St Juste, European talents with genuine hope for big futures.

    I doubt their is anything in it. Also doubt that it was the scouts that had us signing all these players from Scotland the ldt two seasons. That was a Ronny thing, wanted the best of the domestic talent.

    Can only speculate about that. Our transfer policy the past couple years has been all over the place and I'm sure it hasn't been entirely down to Ronny. Still can't get over his comment about Scandinavian players not being good enough for the most part:97:

    The point still stands though that we should be looking elsewhere. It is riskier but I'd rather continually take the risk than settle for bang average players who struggle to make an impact outside of Scotland. Even then the likes of Christie, Allan and Armstrong who are supposedly some of the best talents Scotland had to offer have question marks above their heads.

    I can believe we'd still buy domestically and Rodgers getting help.

    It's clear he doesn't really know much about the game up here anymore, certainly not the players and their performances. So he could potentially be nudged in certain directions.

    Not for a second though, do I believe we are paying the equivalent of £2m for Paterson. No chance

    Chris Gunter would of been a steal imo especially given the fact lustig always has an injury or two every season the guy was solid a the euros and for 1m you can't go wrong, out of everyone mentioned the one I really want is Juste and if we wind up way Patterson al be bitterly disapointed I would much rather use ralston tbh, there will be no doubt names flying around everywhere as journalists are under pressure to produce stories but I reckon Celtic will have one or two that nobody knows of yet big sneaky Pete keeps things under wraps.
