I wouldn't say any of them were raw projects. Especially Toure.

 

Another annoying thing is that if we sign a new CB will they even be match fit? I remember van dijk was thrown in against Karagandy after just signing and he was terrible.

 

It could be a case of that they are in budget just Lawwell doesn't want them rather than he was lied.

C'mon Rodgers is the manager Lawwell is only there to oversee things contract and terms wise, if he has any say in our signing policy then the game is a bogey, though i do think the * has had too big a say before

We are usually but the fact that all the words coming out of Villa are they want £6m for Sinclair and we were very effecient on the Dembele business - a guy who was highly sought after by many... I don't think it's us mate.

Also don't think Dermot Desmond is unprofessional enough to outright lie about the financials to get a manager in. It was Dermot that done this after all, not Lawwell.

With the money going about down south I can see clubs being quite happy to * about with money in our price range in the hopes there's a wee spike in interest.

 

I agree that he shouldn't have any say in our signing policy but in my opinion if that tweet is correct then it's either the clubs the players are with that aren't allowing it or it's Lawwell. Considering Toure is a free agent I doubt it's the clubs.

 

Aye ive heard Lawwell has been pushed aside after the whole Ronny thing, so that given its probably clubs wanting more money, but the funny one would be the Toure thing given he is free to sign with anyone, but even then we on here are taking this tweet as the truth it could be a lot of * also

If Villa want 6 million for sinclair they can * off, Duffy may be weighing up his options as may toure, just because the deadline for us to sign 2 or more players to play in the next qualifier doesnt mean lawwell and co should spend millions of pounds over the odds or magically persuade players to stop mulling over their options and sign tonight

 

this isnt fifa these negotiations take a long time and multiple factors can affect how long they take to complete, im sure we'll sign a few more over the course of the window and it will all be fine

 

If you were Toure, looking dor your last contract in football, free agent so can command a sign on fee and he knows he can wait a while to see what options are available down south... small clubs like Crystal Palace throwing about money, you've had a strong last 6 months of the season at Liverpool...

I could see his agent sitting there saying sit tight mate, you can get some tidy money here for a retirement fund. Here though? He won't, it'll be for Rodgers and silverware.

The market down south has warped the market, it'll hit us more than most. I'm still shocked we managed to so the business with Dembele.

I'm not taking that tweet as gospel but I think we'll be looking in the English market due to Rodgers back ground and the rumours floating about. I can see reasons why everybody on the opposite side of the negotiation table would want to stall. An unprecedented amount of cash for clubs down there and free publicity on the back of us going shopping.

There's a delicate balance there - players that are desperate to come to us probably aren't good enough to improve us at the moment. The players we are desperate to get, will take a bit of convincing to get in here.
