I'm keen on this one, would be a welcome addition to the squad. Him and Hooper may be a good partnership.

 

its got be better than sammon or carew/ Austin is only 21 and can only get better.

 

would have the everton lad vaughan over him anyday. i mean he's played decent at League 1 level but i don't think that's the sort of quality we need. He's not going to solve our goal problems. He'll just be another below par striker stuck on the wage bill with Murphy, Samaras etc. We need to set the sights higher

 

What makes you suggest that he won't be good enough.

 

I'm not saying he's not a good player but i just think that there are better options out there. He's probs better than some of the palyers we have at the minute but i think we need a big player. If he does come I'll support him 100% like but i dont think it would be a step forward if you know what i mean

 

Yeah, I respect your opinion like mate but he's scored a * load of goals in England all be it lower leagues, but so did Hooper and look at him now, I watched Swindon quite a lot last year to see how Ferry was doing on loan and Austin is a great player has everything a modern striker should have would be a good partner for Hooper because of his height too.

 

yea well to be fair I've never actually watched a Swindon match in my life so I'm probably talkin * haha :icon_mrgreen: but yea overall i think the forwards need sorting out. Like you said Hooper = unbelievable and stokes on his day brilliant. Doesn't always perform but that second goal at the weekend sheer quality. Rasmusen and Samaras are shaky at best and Murphy.... So this lad Austin i suppose could get us on the right track

I think if he had the option to sign for Celtic, he definitely would. But I dont know if he will be given the chance as usually when we are intrested in a player, its alot more public than this. Gonna need a lot more sources before I get too excited!

Howe discovered Austin playing for non-league Pool Town when he was Bournemouth boss but was prevented from signing the former bricklayer because of a transfer embargo.

Howe has offered £1.2million bid for Austin, who has scored 31 goals in 52 league games for Swindon.
