Celtic Supporters Thread (contains GB chat)

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by Paul67, Dec 17, 2010.

  1. I had a read back through the thread. Yet to find any proper evidence he did say it. Except a wee guy who's got a good character said he did so it must be true!!

  2. Well said!

I'm sure Arsenal, who would pay higher wages, were interested in Peter Lawwell for chief executive a few years ago and he turned it down to stay here. He isn't perfect, but certainly not the worse chief executive we could have.

:97: really? They have made some fantastic artistic displays and sing non-stop (usually quite in tune too). If they wern't at home games the place would be a morgue.

Just because you don't agree with their socialist stance doesn't make it embarassing, they're not trying to force it upon you, to do that would be right wing facism.

  3. Firstly, what is this attitude and how does it manifest itself? Because I don't know what you're referring to. And secondly, how is it 'embarassing'?

  4. As I've said before if he was lying he'd probably be facing a lawsuit. Celtic haven't denied anything they've just continued to deflect.

  5. Singing non-stop doesn't create an intimidating atmosphere especial when none of the songs are intimidating.

    Artistic displays? :87:

It's a football stadium not a concert hall.

  6. So you thought the atmosphere at CP before they got their section was better?

They can't make the rest of the stadium get involved.

What more could they do in terms of atmosphere?

You never seem to have anything positive to say.

  8. Honestly i don't know what to believe but it's not really evidence. A wee guy on a podcast saying that wouldn't even be on Celtics radar so obviously there wouldn't be a law suit.

  9. With the uproar after it, you can bet your life that it went right to the top at the PLC.

  10. The problem there is the other guy that was in the meeting has still not come out & said anything to confirm or deny it.

I'm sure in saying this other guy is the top man in a fans group?, for him to stay there he should be told to either confirm or deny or be removed from his post.

  12. Their motto, their actions. Utterly pathetic.

    The whole group is pretense.

  13. We need more groups spread about the stadium as the GB are not going to get any bigger.

I know everybody(even myself) think this 122 section is a laughing stock but i really hope it works out for them or somebody else does a similar thing

  16. The atmosphere hasn't changed much, OF and Euro games are/were the same before and the average League was about the same.

No they can't make the rest of the stadium get involved and I doubt there is much more they could do. Whenever I go to a game I go to see the team, if i'm honest the GB don't really register to me during the match and I only really notice them if we're 4,5 up.

  17. I didn't say it was an intimidating atmosphere, it's usually more of a party-like atmosphere they create in their section. The drums and the singing is great to have in the background as you can hear it no matter where you are in the stadium. It certainly beats listening to the groans from the majority.

So you didn't appreciate, for example, the four horse of the apocalypse banner? Who gives a * if it's not a concert hall, these guys have put their creativity and talents into something they are strongly passionate about - Celtic.

  18. He's not exactly just "a wee guy on a podcast". He's worked with the club through the affiliation so they know who he is.
