They flew that * uefa banner because we were rightfully fined by uefa for the GB singing IRA songs so that has everything to do with the GB. Also the poppy banner showed a lack of maturity and sensitivity. :50:

The annual poppy fest doesn't show sensitivity or maturity.

What IRA songs were they singing that deserved a punishment ? and on what basis ?

The Poppy banner "showed a lack of maturity and sensitivity".........says you ?

Can you explain why there was a lack of both accusations you have mentioned above ?

Well we were fined for illicit chanting, what songs they were singing is meaningless. As for the poppy banner, we are the only club in the whole of Britain that has to make a big deal about wearing a bit of red plastic on our shirts, if you don't agree with the poppies then no one is forcing you to buy one. It's embarrassing that we have to be so juvenile about it. What do you mean by lack of accusations?

Yes and what is wrong with those accusations? Practically everyone who isn't a Celtic supporter and many fellow supporters feel the same way. People who have no interest in football will say likewise.

I don't want to get involved in a big argument but I can see where fans come from when they get annoyed at groups of our fans who make political innuendos or satirical banners and things as such. Everybody is entitled to their opinion, 100% behind to each their own but when you go to the fitbaw, go to support your team. Don't use it as a stage to make declarations on your particular stance to something outside of the football. It just gets us into trouble and puts us in the limelight for the wrong reasons.

More polis the day than ive ever seen at a normal league game ever. We go bye bellgrove station at every game and the day there was 3 polis vans and 2 motors there lol theres usually only 1 motor, then at the lights just after it 3 polis vans back to back came along from the gallowgate heading towards the ground meaning at that time there was 6 vans and 2 motors within about 150 yards of each other. Then where we park next to the bus park there was a polis on a motorbike in there, never any polis there ever.

I did not fully support the GB but took the stance that they like everybody else has a right to voice their opinion, be it at the match or else where and I defend their right to this freedom.
However after today's showing by the forces of the law I am right behind the young boys. This is supposed to be a free and democratic country...it was when I was a youth.... but I fear these freedoms have slowly but surely been eroded, picked off one at at time with stealth and cunning. The only time authority listens is when it is election time and their necks are on the line and they fear they will lose their place at the trough.
I feel it is time for all true thinking Celtic supporters to vent their anger at this treatment of our young people. If the GB organise a protest against the way thay were treated I for one will return to Scotland to support them.
As for the board coming out with a statement questioning the police tactics...No chance.

Let's get things in perspective, the GB wave banners and sing songs, none of which are sectarian or illegal, and they get harassed by the polis to the extent where they're turned away from games, prosecuted with trumped up charges, and arrested and battered in the street. Whether or not you agree with their politics is irrelevant, they're Celtic fans and they've done nothing illegal or wrong. The fans and especially the club need to stand behind them.
